✧ He was in a gathering in which his father was present, and he was one of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ, and in the gathering were Abu Hurayrah, Abu Usayd, and Abu Humayd al-Sa'idi from the Ansar. They mentioned prayer among themselves. Abu Humayd said, 'I am the most knowledgeable among you concerning the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.' They said, 'Show us.' He said, 'He stood up to pray while they watched. He began by saying takbir and raised his hands level with his shoulders. Then he said takbir for bowing and raised his hands as well. Then he placed his hands on his knees, not drawing his head in and not lowering it. Then he raised his head and said, "Allah hears those who praise Him. O Allah, our Lord, to You belongs praise." Then he raised his hands. Then he said, "Allahu Akbar" and prostrated, supporting himself on his palms, knees, and the front of his feet while prostrating. Then he said takbir and sat, placing one leg under him and standing the other foot upright. Then he said takbir and prostrated the second prostration, then said takbir and stood up without sitting for rest. Then he returned and bowed for the other rak'ah, and said takbir likewise. Then he sat after the two rak'ahs until he wanted to rise for standing, he said takbir, then he bowed for the last two rak'ahs. When he said the taslim, he turned to his right, saying, "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah," and turned to his left, saying, "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah."'
