✧ Jumu'ah (Friday) Washing

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ زَنْجُوَيْهِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَخِي عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ

«إِنَّ فِطْرَةَ الْإِسْلَامِ الْغُسْلُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالِاسْتِنَانُ وَأَخْذُ الشَّارِبِ وَإِعْفَاءُ اللِّحَى فَإِنَّ الْمَجُوسَ تُعْفِي شَوَارِبَهَا وَتُحْفِي لِحَاهَا فَخَالِفُوهُمْ خُذُوا شَوَارِبَكُمْ وَاعْفُوا لِحَاكُمْ»

✧ “Part of the fitrah of Islam is bathing on the day of Jumu'ah, using the tooth-stick, trimming the moustache, and letting the beard grow; for the Magians let their moustaches grow and shave their beards. So differ from them: trim your moustaches and let your beards grow.”
