The Great Expedition of Badr
قال ابن إسحاق عن خروج رسول الله ﷺ إلى بدر: خرج رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَبَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ رَايَتَانِ سَوْدَاوَانِ، إِحْدَاهُمَا مَعَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، يُقَالُ لَهَا الْعُقَابُ. وَالْأُخْرَى مَعَ بَعْضِ الْأَنْصَارِ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: كَانَتْ رَايَةُ الْأَنْصَارِ مَعَ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ. وَقَالَ الْأُمَوِيُّ: كَانَتْ مَعَ الْحُبَابِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ.
Translation
✧ Ibn Isḥāq said regarding the departure of the Messenger of God ﷺ to Badr: The Messenger of God ﷺ went out with two black banners before him, one of them with ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib ؓ, called al-ʿUqāb, and the other with one of the Anṣār. Ibn Hishām said: The banner of the Anṣār was with Saʿd b. Muʿādh. Al-Umawī said: It was with al-Ḥubāb b. al-Mundhir.
