Translation
✧ The Expedition of Safawān (the First Expedition of Badr) The Prophet ﷺ set out ten days after his return from the Expedition of al-ʿUshayrah, at the beginning of the second year of the Hijrah, in pursuit of Kurz b. Jābir al-Fihrī, because of his raid on the pasturing camels of Madinah. His white banner was carried by ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib, and he appointed Zayd b. Ḥārithah as his deputy over Madinah. However, Kurz had already escaped and he ﷺ did not catch up with him, so he returned to Madinah.
