The Prophet's emigration ﷺ
Translation
✧ [ Those who knew of the Messenger's emigration ﷺ ] Ibn Isḥāq said: As far as I have been informed, no one knew of the departure of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he departed except ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib, Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq, and the family of Abū Bakr. As for ʿAlī, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — as far as I have been informed — told him of his departure and ordered him to remain behind in Makkah until he should return, on behalf of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the trusts that people had placed with him. There was no one in Makkah who had anything that he feared for but he placed it with him, because of the truthfulness and trustworthiness that were known of him ﷺ.
