The second pledge of al-Aqabah and what occurred therein
أَسَمَاءُ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ [ عَدَدُهُمْ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَهَذَا تَسْمِيَةُ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ، وَبَايَعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِهَا مِنْ الْأَوْسِ وَالْخَزْرَجِ، وَكَانُوا ثَلَاثَةً وَسَبْعِينَ رَجُلًا وَامْرَأَتَيْنِ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ الْأَوْسِ ابْنُ حَارِثَةَ وَبَنِيَّ عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ ] شَهِدَهَا مِنْ الْأَوْسِ بْنُ الْحَارِثَةِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرٍ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ ابْنِ جُشَمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْأَوْسِ أُسَيْدُ بْنُ حُضَيْرِ بْنِ سِمَاكِ بْنِ عَتِيكِ بْنِ رَافِعِ بْنِ امْرِئِ الْقَيْسِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ، نَقِيبٌ لَمْ يَشْهَدْ بَدْرًا وَأَبُو الْهَيْثَمِ بْنُ التَّيِّهَانِ، وَاسْمُهُ مَالِكٌ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَسَلَمَةُ بْنُ سَلَامَةَ بْنِ وَقْشِ بْنِ زِغْبَةَ بْنِ زَعُورَاءَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَشْهَلِ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ وَيُقَالُ: ابْنُ زَعَوْرَاءَ ( بِفَتْحِ الْعَيْنِ ). [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمِنْ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْأَوْسِ: ظُهَيْرُ بْنُ رَافِعِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُشَمَ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ. وَأَبُو بُرْدَةَ بْنُ نِيَارٍ وَاسْمُهُ هَانِئُ بْنِ نِيَارِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ كِلَابِ بْنِ دُهْمَانَ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ ذُبْيَانَ بْنِ هُمَيْمِ بْنِ كَامِلِ بْنِ ذُهْلِ بْنِ هَنِيِّ بْنِ بَلِيِّ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَافِّ بْنِ قُضَاعَةَ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَنُهَيْرُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ، مِنْ بَنِي نَابِي بْنِ مَجْدَعَةَ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ، ( بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْأَوْسِ )؛ ( ثُمَّ مِنْ آلِ السَّوَّافِ بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ نَابِي بْنِ مَجْدَعَةَ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ ) ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْأَوْسِ: سَعْدُ بْنُ خَيْثَمَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ النَّحَّاطِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ السَّلْمِ بْنِ امْرِئِ الْقَيْسِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْأَوْسِ، نَقِيبٌ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، فَقُتِلَ بِهِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ شَهِيدًا. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَنَسَبَهُ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ فِي بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفٍ؛ وَهُوَ مِنْ بَنِي غَنْمِ بْنِ السَّلْمِ، لِأَنَّهُ رُبَّمَا كَانَتْ دَعْوَةُ الرَّجُلِ فِي الْقَوْمِ، وَيَكُونُ فِيهِمْ فَيُنْسَبُ إلَيْهِمْ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَرِفَاعَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ زَنْبَرَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو نَقِيبٌ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ الْبُرَكِ - وَاسْمُ الْبُرَكِ: امْرُؤُ الْقَيْسِ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو ( بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْأَوْسِ ) - شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ شَهِيدًا أَمِيرًا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَلَى الرُّمَاةِ، وَيُقَالُ: أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ الْبَرْكِ، فِيمَا قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمَعْنُ بْنُ عَدِيِّ بْنِ الْجَدِّ بْنِ الْعَجْلَانِ بْنِ ( حَارِثَةَ ) بْنِ ضُبَيْعَةَ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ، وَمَشَاهِدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلَّهَا، قُتِلَ يَوْمَ الْيَمَامَةِ شَهِيدًا فِي خِلَافَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ ؓ. وَعُوَيْمُ بْنُ سَاعِدَةَ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ. خَمْسَةُ نَفَرٍ. فَجَمِيعُ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ مِنْ الْأَوْسِ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ ] وَشَهِدَهَا مِنْ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرٍ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ، وَهُوَ تَيْمُ اللَّهِ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ: أَبُو أَيُّوبَ، وَهُوَ خَالِدُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ كُلَيْبِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ، وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا؛ مَاتَ بِأَرْضِ الرُّومِ غَازِيًا فِي زَمَنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ. وَمُعَاذُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ سَوَادِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ، وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا، وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَفْرَاءَ. وَأَخُوهُ عَوْفُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَقُتِلَ بِهِ شَهِيدًا، وَهُوَ ( لِعَفْرَاءَ. وَأَخُوهُ مُعَوَّذُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَقُتِلَ بِهِ شَهِيدًا ). وَهُوَ الَّذِي قَتَلَ أَبَا جَهْلِ بْنِ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، وَهُوَ لِعَفْرَاءَ - وَيُقَالُ: رِفَاعَةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ سَوَادٍ، فِيمَا قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ - وَعُمَارَةُ بْنُ حَزْمِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ لَوْذَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ عَوْفِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ. شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ، وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا، قُتِلَ يَوْمَ الْيَمَامَةِ شَهِيدًا فِي خِلَافَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ ؓ. وَأَسْعَدُ بْنُ زُرَارَةَ بْنِ عُدَسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ، نَقِيبٌ، مَاتَ قَبْلَ بَدْرٍ وَمَسْجِدُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُبْنَى، وَهُوَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ. سِتَّةُ نَفَرٍ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ مَبْذُولٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ مَبْذُولٍ - وَمَبْذُولٌ: عَامِرُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ -: سَهْلُ بْنُ عَتِيكِ بْنِ نُعْمَانَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَتِيكِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. رَجُلٌ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ، وَهُمْ بَنُو حُدَيْلَةَ - قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: حُدَيْلَةُ: بِنْتُ مَالِكِ بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةِ بْنِ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ غَضْبِ بْنِ جُشَمِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ - أَوْسُ بْنُ ثَابِتِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ حَرَامِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ ( بْنِ النَّجَّارِ )، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَأَبُو طَلْحَةَ، وَهُوَ زَيْدُ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ حَرَامِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ زَيْدِ مَنَاةِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَالِكِ ( بْنِ النَّجَّارِ ) شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. رَجُلَانِ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي مَازِنِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي مَازِنِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ، قَيْسُ بْنُ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ، وَاسْمُ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ: عَمْرُو بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَبْذُولِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ مَازِنٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ جَعَلَهُ عَلَى السَّاقَةِ يَوْمئِذٍ. وَعَمْرُو بْنُ غُزَيَّةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ خَنْسَاءَ بْنِ مَبْذُولِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ مَازِنٍ. رَجُلَانِ. فَجَمِيعُ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ مِنْ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ أَحَدَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا. [ تَصْوِيبُ نَسَبِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غُزَيَّةَ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: عَمْرُو بْنُ غُزَيَّةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ خَنْسَاءَ، هَذَا الَّذِي ذَكَرَهُ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ، إنَّمَا هُوَ غُزَيَّةُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ بْنِ خَنْسَاءَ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَلْحارثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمِنْ بَلْحارثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ: سَعْدُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي زُهَيْرِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ امْرِئِ الْقِيسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ( الْأَغَرِّ ) بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، نَقِيبٌ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ شَهِيدًا. وَخَارِجَةُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي زُهَيْرِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ امْرِئِ الْقِيسِ بْنِ مَالِكِ ( الْأَغَرِّ ) بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ شَهِيدًا. وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوَاحَةَ ( ابْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ ) بْنِ امْرِئِ الْقِيسِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ امْرِئِ الْقِيسِ ( الْأَكْبَرِ ) بْنِ مَالِكِ ( الْأَغَرِّ ) بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، نَقِيبٌ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ وَمَشَاهِدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُلَّهَا، إلَّا الْفَتْحَ وَمَا بَعْدَهُ، وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ مُؤْتَةَ شَهِيدًا أَمِيرًا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ. وَبَشِيرُ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ خِلَاسِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدِ ( مَنَاةِ ) بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَهُوَ الَّذِي أُرِيَ النِّدَاءَ لِلصَّلَاةِ، فَجَاءَ بِهِ إلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ. وَخَلَّادُ بْنُ سُوِيدِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ امْرِئِ الْقِيسِ بْنِ مَالِكِ ( الْأَغَرِّ ) بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ، وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ شَهِيدًا، طُرِحَتْ عَلَيْهِ رَحَى مِنْ أُطُمٍ مِنْ أُطَامِهَا فَشَدَخَتْهُ شَدْخًا شَدِيدًا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ - فِيمَا يَذْكُرُونَ -: إنَّ لَهُ لَأَجْرَ شَهِيدَيْنِ وَعُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ أَسِيرَةَ بْنِ عُسَيْرةَ بْنِ جَدَارَةَ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ( بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ )، وَهُوَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ وَكَانَ أَحْدَثَ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ سِنًّا، ( مَاتَ فِي أَيَّامِ مُعَاوِيَةَ )، لَمْ يَشْهَدْ بَدْرًا. سَبْعَةُ نَفَرٍ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي بَيَاضَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي بَياضَةَ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَيْقِ بْنِ عَبْدِ حَارِثَةَ ( بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ غَضْبِ بْنِ جُشَمِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ ): زِيَادُ بْنُ لَبِيَدِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ سِنَانِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ بَيَاضَةَ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَفَرْوَةُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ وَذْفَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ بَيَاضَةَ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ: وَدْفَةُ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقٍ: وَخَالِدُ بْنُ قِيسِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْعَجْلَانِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ بَيَاضَةَ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي زُرَيْقِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَيْقِ بْنِ عَبْدِ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ غَضْبِ بْنِ جُشَمِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ: رَافِعُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْعَجْلَانِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَيْقٍ، نَقِيبٌ. وَذَكْوَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ قِيسِ بْنِ خَلْدَةَ بْنِ مُخَلَّدِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَيْقٍ، وَكَانَ خَرَجَ إلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، وَكَانَ مَعَهُ بِمَكَّةَ وَهَاجَرَ إلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ، فَكَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ: مُهَاجِرِيٌّ أَنْصَارِيٌّ؛ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ شَهِيدًا. وَعَبَّادُ بْنُ قِيسِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ خَلْدَةَ بْنِ مُخَلَّدِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَيْقٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ قِيسِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ مُخَلَّدِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَيْقٍ، وَهُوَ أَبُو خَالِدٍ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. أَرْبَعَةُ نَفَرٍ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسَدِ بْنِ سَارِدَةَ بْنِ تَزِيدَ بْنِ جُشَمِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ؛ ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ: الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ مَعْرُورِ بْنِ صَخْرِ بْنِ خَنْسَاءَ بْنِ سِنَانِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ غَنْمٍ نَقِيبٌ، وَهُوَ الَّذِي تَزْعُمُ بَنُو سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ ضَرَبَ عَلَى يَدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَشَرَطَ لَهُ، وَاشْتَرَطَ عَلَيْهِ، ثُمَّ تُوُفِّيَ قَبْلَ مَقْدِمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ. وَابْنُهُ بِشْرُ بْنُ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ مَعْرُورٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا وَالْخَنْدَقَ وَمَاتَ بِخَيْبَرٍ مِنْ أَكْلَةٍ أَكَلَهَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، مِنْ الشَّاةِ الَّتِي سُمَّ فِيهَا - وَهُوَ الَّذِي قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ، حَيْنَ سَأَلَ بَنِي سَلَمَةَ: مَنْ سَيِّدُكُمْ يَا بَنِي سَلِمَةَ ؟ فَقَالُوا: الْجَدُّ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، عَلَى بُخْلِهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: وَأَيُّ دَاءٍ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ الْبُخْلِ سَيِّدُ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ الْأَبْيَضُ الْجَعْدُ بِشْرُ بْنُ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ مَعْرُورٍ -. وَسِنَانُ بْنُ صَيْفَى بْنِ صَخْرِ بْنِ خَنْسَاءَ بْنِ سِنَانِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، ( وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ شَهِيدًا ). وَالطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ خَنْسَاءَ بْنِ سِنَانَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ شَهِيدًا. وَمَعْقِلُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ سَرْحِ بْنِ خُنَاسِ بْنِ سِنَانِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. و ( أَخُوهُ ) يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَمَسْعُودُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ سُبَيْعِ بْنِ خَنْسَاءَ بْنِ سِنَانِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ. وَالضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَيَزِيدُ بْنُ حَرَامِ بْنِ سُبَيْعِ بْنِ خَنْسَاءَ بْنِ سِنَانِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ. وَجُبَارُ بْنُ صَخْرِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ خَنْسَاءَ بْنِ سِنَانَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ: جَبَّارُ بْنُ صَخْرِ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ خُنَاسٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَالطُّفَيْلُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ خَنْسَاءَ بْنِ سِنَانِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. أَحَدَ عَشَرَ رَجُلًا. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي سَوَادِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي سَوَادِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي كَعْبِ بْنِ سَوَادٍ: كَعْبُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَبِي كَعْبِ بْنِ الْقَيْنِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ. رَجُلٌ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي غَنْمِ بْنِ سَوَادٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي غَنْمِ بْنِ سَوَادِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ: سُلَيْمُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حُدَيْدَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَنْمٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَقُطْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ حُدَيْدَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَنْمٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. و ( أَخُوهُ ) يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ حُدَيْدَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَنْمٍ، وَهُوَ أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَأَبُو الْيَسَرِ، وَاسْمُهُ كَعْبُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَنْمٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَصَيْفِيُّ بْنُ سَوَادِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَنْمٍ خَمْسَةُ نَفَرٍ. [ تَصْوِيبُ اسْمِ صَيْفِيٍّ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: صَيْفِيُّ بْنُ أَسْوَدَ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ سَوَادٍ، وَلَيْسَ لِسَوَادٍ ابْنٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ: غَنْمٌ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي نَابِي بْنِ عَمْرٍو ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمِنْ بَنِي نَابِي بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَوَادِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ: ثَعْلَبَةُ بْنُ غَنَمَةَ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ نَابِي، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَقُتِلَ بِالْخَنْدَقِ شَهِيدًا. وَعَمْرُو بْنُ غَنَمَةَ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ نَابِي، وَعَبْسُ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ نَابِي، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُنَيْسٍ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ مِنْ قُضَاعَةَ. وَخَالِدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ نَابِي. خَمْسَةُ نَفَرٍ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي حَرَامِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمِنْ بَنِي حَرَامِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ: عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَرَامِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ حَرَامٍ، نَقِيبٌ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ شَهِيدًا، وَابْنُهُ جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ. وَمَعَاذُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْجَمُوحِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ حَرَامٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. وَثَابِتُ بْنُ الْجِذْعِ - وَالْجِذْعُ: ثَعْلَبَةُ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ حَرَامٍ - شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَقُتِلَ بِالطَّائِفِ شَهِيدًا. وَعُمَيْرُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ حَرَامٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: عُمَيْرُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ لَبْدَةَ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَخَدِيجُ بْنُ سَلَامَةَ بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْفُرَافِرِ. حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ. وَمَعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَوْسِ بْنِ عَائِذِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَدَّى بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَسَدٍ، وَيُقَالُ: أَسَدُ بْنُ سَارِدَةَ بْنِ تَزِيدَ بْنِ جُشَمِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ؛ وَكَانَ فِي بَنِي سَلَمَةَ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا وَمَاتَ بِعِمْوَاسَ، عَامَ الطَّاعُونِ بِالشَّامِ، فِي خِلَافَةِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ؓ، وَإِنَّمَا ادَّعَتْهُ بَنُو سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ أَخَا سَهْلِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْجَدِّ بْنِ قِيسِ بْنِ صَخْرِ ابْنِ خَنْسَاءَ بْنِ سِنَانِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ لِأُمِّهِ. سَبْعَةُ نَفَرٍ. [ تَصْوِيبُ نَسَبِ خَدِيجِ بْنِ سَلَامَةَ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: أَوْسٌ: ابْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ أُذَنِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي عَوْفِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمِنْ بَنِي عَوْفِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ؛ ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي سَالِمِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ: عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الصَّامِتِ بْنِ قِيسِ بْنِ أَصْرَمَ بْنِ فِهْرِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، نَقِيبٌ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَالْمَشَاهِدَ كُلَّهَا. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: هُوَ غَنْمُ بْنُ عَوْفٍ، أَخُو سَالِمِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَالْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ نَضْلَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْعِجْلَانِ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ خَرَجَ إلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِمَكَّةَ، فَأَقَامَ مَعَهُ بِهَا، فَكَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ: مُهَاجِرِيٌّ أَنْصَارِيٌّ، وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ شَهِيدًا. وَأَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَزِيدُ بْنُ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ خَزَمَةَ بْنِ أَصْرَمَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَمَّارَةَ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ مِنْ بَنِي غُصَيْنَةَ مِنْ بَلِيٍّ. وَعَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ لَبْدَةَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ. أَرْبَعَةُ نَفَرٍ، وَهُمْ الْقَوَاقِلُ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي سَالِمِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي سَالِمِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ، وَهُمْ بَنُو الْحُبُلِيِّ - قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: الْحُبُلِيُّ: سَالِمُ بْنُ غَنْمِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، وَإِنَّمَا سُمِّيَ الْحُبُلِيَّ - لِعِظَمِ بَطْنِهِ -: رِفَاعَةُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ سَالِمِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَهُوَ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ: رِفَاعَةُ: ابْنُ مَالِكٍ، وَمَالِكٌ: ابْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ جُشَمِ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَعُقْبَةُ بْنُ وَهْبِ بْنِ كِلْدَةَ بْنِ الْجَعْدِ بْنِ هِلَالِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ جُشَمِ بْنِ عَوْفِ بْنِ بُهْثَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ غَطَفانَ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ قِيسِ بْنِ عَيْلَانَ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا، وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ خَرَجَ إلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُهَاجِرًا مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ إلَى مَكَّةَ، فَكَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ: مُهَاجِرِيٌّ أَنْصَارِيٌّ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: رَجُلَانِ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي سَاعِدَةَ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَمِنْ بَنِي سَاعِدَةَ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ: سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ دُلَيْمِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ أَبِي خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ طَرِيفِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ سَاعِدَةَ، نَقِيبٌ وَالْمُنْذِرُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خُنَيْسِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ بْنِ لَوْذَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ وُدَّ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ جُشَمِ بْنِ الْخَزْرَجِ بْنِ سَاعِدَةَ، نَقِيبٌ، شَهِدَ بَدْرًا وَأُحُدًا. وَقُتِلَ يَوْمَ بِئْرِ مَعُونَةَ أَمِيرًا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، وَهُوَ الَّذِي كَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ: أَعْنَقَ لِيَمُوتَ. رَجُلَانِ. ( قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ: الْمُنْذِرُ: ابْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَنْشٍ ). قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: فَجَمِيعُ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْعَقَبَةَ مِنْ الْأَوْسِ وَالْخَزْرَجِ ثَلَاثَةٌ وَسَبْعُونَ رَجُلًا وَامْرَأَتَانِ مِنْهُمْ، يُزْعِمُونَ أَنَّهُمَا قَدْ بَايَعَتَا، وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَا يُصَافِحُ النِّسَاءَ، إنَّمَا كَانَ يَأْخُذُ عَلَيْهِنَّ، فَإِذَا أَقْرَرْنَ، قَالَ: اذْهَبْنَ فَقَدْ بَايَعَتْكُنَّ [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي مَازِنِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي مَازِنِ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ: نُسَيْبَةُ بِنْتُ كَعْبِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَوْفِ مِنْ مَبْذُولِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ مَازِنٍ، وَهِيَ أُمُّ عِمَارَةَ، كَانَتْ شَهِدَتْ الْحَرْبَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ، وَشَهِدَتْ مَعَهَا أُخْتُهَا، وَزَوْجُهَا زَيْدُ بْنُ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ. وَابْنَاهَا: حَبِيبُ بْنُ زَيْدِ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، وَابْنُهَا حَبِيبٌ الَّذِي أَخَذَهُ مُسَيْلِمَةُ الْكَذَّابُ الْحَنَفِيُّ، صَاحِبُ الْيَمَامَةِ، فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ لَهُ: أَتَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: نَعَمْ؛ فَيَقُولُ: أَفَتَشْهَدُ أَنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ؟ فَيَقُولُ: لَا أَسْمَعُ، فَجَعَلَ يُقَطِّعُهُ عُضْوًا عُضْوًا حَتَّى مَاتَ فِي يَدِهِ، لَا يَزِيدُهُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ، إذَا ذُكِرَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ آمَنَ بِهِ وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ، وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ لَهُ مُسَيْلِمَةُ قَالَ: لَا أَسْمَعُ - فَخَرَجَتْ إلَى الْيَمَامَةِ مَعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ، فَبَاشَرَتْ الْحَرْبَ بِنَفْسِهَا. حَتَّى قَتَلَ اللَّهُ مُسَيْلِمَةَ، وَرَجَعَتْ وَبِهَا اثْنَا عَشَرَ جُرْحًا، مِنْ بَيْنِ طَعْنَةٍ وَضَرْبَةٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: حَدَّثَنِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْهَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ حِبَّانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ. [ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا مِنْ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي سَلَمَةَ: أُمُّ مَنِيعٍ؛ وَاسْمُهَا: أَسَمَاءُ بِنْتُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ نَابِي بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَوَادِ بْنِ غَنْمِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ.
Translation
✧ The names of those who witnessed al-ʿAqabah [Their number] Ibn Isḥāq said: This is the naming of those who witnessed al-ʿAqabah and pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God ﷺ there from the Aws and the Khazraj; they were seventy-three men and two women. [Those who witnessed it from the Aws b. Ḥārithah and the Banū ʿAbd al-Ashhal] Those who witnessed it from the Aws b. al-Ḥārithah b. Thaʿlabah b. ʿAmr b. ʿĀmir, then from the Banū ʿAbd al-Ashhal b. Jusham b. al-Ḥārith b. al-Khazraj b. ʿAmr b. Mālik b. al-Aws: Usayd b. Ḥuḍayr b. Simāk b. ʿAtīk b. Rāfiʿ b. Imriʾ al-Qays b. Zayd b. ʿAbd al-Ashhal, a naqīb; he did not witness Badr. And Abū al-Haytham b. al-Tayyihān, whose name was Mālik; he witnessed Badr. And Salamah b. Salāmah b. Waqsh b. Zighbah b. Zaʿūrāʾ b. ʿAbd al-Ashhal; he witnessed Badr. Three men. Ibn Hishām said: It is said: Ibn Zaʿawrāʾ (with a fatḥah on the ʿayn). [Those who witnessed it from the Banū Ḥārithah b. al-Ḥārith] Ibn Isḥāq said: And from the Banū Ḥārithah b. al-Ḥārith b. al-Khazraj b. ʿAmr b. Mālik b. al-Aws: Ẓuhayr b. Rāfiʿ b. ʿAdī b. Zayd b. Jusham b. Ḥārithah. And Abū Burdah b. Niyār, whose name was Hāniʾ b. Niyār b. ʿAmr b. ʿUbayd b. Kilāb b. Duhmān b. Ghanm b. Dhubyān b. Humaym b. Kāmil b. Dhuhl b. Hanī b. Balī b. ʿAmr b. al-Ḥāf b. Quḍāʿah, an ally of theirs; he witnessed Badr. And Nuhayr b. al-Haytham, from the Banū Nābī b. Majdaʿah b. Ḥārithah (b. al-Ḥārith b. al-Khazraj b. ʿAmr b. Ghanm b. al-Salm b. Imriʾ al-Qays b. Mālik b. al-Aws, a naqīb; he witnessed Badr and was killed there as a martyr with the Messenger of God ﷺ. Ibn Hishām said: Ibn Isḥāq traced his lineage to the Banū ʿAmr b. ʿAwf, but he is from the Banū Ghanm b. al-Salm, because a man's alliance might be with a people and he would be among them, so he would be attributed to them. Ibn Isḥāq said: And Rifāʿah b. ʿAbd al-Mundhir b. Zanbar b. Zayd b. Umayyah b. Zayd b. Mālik b. ʿAwf b. ʿAmr, a naqīb; he witnessed Badr. And ʿAbd Allāh b. Jubayr b. al-Nuʿmān b. Umayyah b. al-Burak—and the name of al-Burak is Imruʾ al-Qays b. Thaʿlabah b. ʿAmr (b. ʿAwf b. Mālik b. al-Aws)—he witnessed Badr and was killed on the day of Uḥud as a martyr, a commander of the archers appointed by the Messenger of God ﷺ. It is said: Umayyah b. al-Bark, according to what Ibn Hishām said. Ibn Isḥāq said: And Maʿn b. ʿAdī b. al-Jadd b. al-ʿAjlān b. (Ḥārithah) b. Ḍubayʿah, an ally of theirs from Balī; he witnessed Badr, Uḥud, and the Trench, and all the expeditions of the Messenger of God ﷺ. He was killed on the day of al-Yamāmah as a martyr in the caliphate of Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq ؓ. And ʿUwaym b. Sāʿidah; he witnessed Badr, Uḥud, and the Trench. Five men. Thus the total of those who witnessed al-ʿAqabah from the Aws was eleven men. [Those who witnessed it from the Khazraj b. Ḥārithah] And those who witnessed it from the Khazraj b. Ḥārithah b. Thaʿlabah b. ʿAmr b. ʿĀmir, then from the Banū al-Najjār, who is Taym Allāh b. Thaʿlabah b. ʿAmr b. al-Khazraj: Abū Ayyūb, who is Khālid b. Zayd b. Kulayb b. Thaʿlabah b. ʿAbd b. ʿAwf b. Ghanm b. Mālik b. al-Najjār; he witnessed Badr, Uḥud, and the Trench, and all the expeditions; he died in the land of the Romans as a warrior in the time of Muʿāwiyah b. Abī Sufyān. And Muʿādh b. al-Ḥārith b. Rifāʿah b. Sawād b. Mālik b. Ghanm b. Mālik b. al-Najjār; he witnessed Badr, Uḥud, and the Trench, and all the expeditions, and he is the son of ʿAfrāʾ. And his brother ʿAwf b. al-Ḥārith; he witnessed Badr and was killed there as a martyr, and he is (the son of ʿAfrāʾ. And his brother Muʿawwidh b. al-Ḥārith; he witnessed Badr and was killed there as a martyr). He is the one who killed Abū Jahl b. Hishām b. al-Mughīrah, and he is the son of ʿAfrāʾ—and it is said: Rifāʿah b. al-Ḥārith b. Sawād, according to what Ibn Hishām said—and ʿUmārah b. Ḥazm b. Zayd b. Lawdhān b. ʿAmr b. ʿAbd ʿAwf b. Nuʿmān b. ʿAmr b. ʿAtīk b. ʿAmr; he witnessed Badr. One man. [Those who witnessed it from the Banū ʿAmr b. Mālik] And from the Banū ʿAmr b. Mālik b. al-Najjār, and they are the Banū Ḥudaylah—Ibn Hishām said: Ḥudaylah is the daughter of Mālik b. Zayd Manāt b. Ḥabīb b. ʿAbd Ḥārithah b. Mālik b. Ghaḍb b. Jusham b. al-Khazraj—: Aws b. Thābit b. al-Mundhir b. Ḥarām b. ʿAmr b. Zayd Manāt b. ʿAdī b. ʿAmr b. Mālik (b. al-Najjār); he witnessed Badr. And Abū Ṭalḥah, who is Zayd b. Sahl b. al-Aswad b. Ḥarām b. ʿAmr b. Zayd Manāt b. ʿAdī b. ʿAmr b. Mālik (b. al-Najjār); he witnessed Badr. Two men. [Those who witnessed it from the Banū Māzin b. al-Najjār] And from the Banū Māzin b. al-Najjār, Qays b. Abī Ṣaʿṣaʿah, and the name of Abū Ṣaʿṣaʿah is ʿAmr b. Zayd b. ʿAwf b. Mabdhūl b. ʿAmr b. Ghanm b. Māzin; he witnessed Badr, and the Messenger of God ﷺ placed him in command of the rear guard on that day. And ʿAmr b. Ghuzayyah b. ʿAmr b. Thaʿlabah b. Khansāʾ b. Mabdhūl b. ʿAmr b. Ghanm b. Māzin. Two men. Thus the total of those who witnessed al-ʿAqabah from the Banū al-Najjār was eleven men. [Correction of the lineage of ʿAmr b. Ghuzayyah] Ibn Hishām said: ʿAmr b. Ghuzayyah b. ʿAmr b. Thaʿlabah b. Khansāʾ, this one whom Ibn Isḥāq mentioned, is only Ghuzayyah b. ʿAmr b. ʿAṭiyyah b. Khansāʾ. And Bashīr b. Saʿd b. Thaʿlabah b. Khilās b. Zayd b. Mālik b. Thaʿlabah b. Kaʿb b. al-Khazraj b. al-Ḥārith, the father of al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr; he witnessed Badr. And ʿAbd Allāh b. Zayd b. Thaʿlabah b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Zayd (Manāt) b. al-Ḥārith b. al-Khazraj; he witnessed Badr, and he is the one who saw the call to prayer in a dream, and he brought it to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he commanded it. And Khallād b. Suwayd b. Thaʿlabah b. ʿAmr b. Ḥārithah b. Imriʾ al-Qays b. Mālik (al-Agharr) b. Thaʿlabah b. Kaʿb b. al-Khazraj; he witnessed Badr, Uḥud, and the Trench, and he was killed on the day of the Banū Qurayẓah as a martyr: a millstone from one of their forts was thrown upon him and crushed him severely. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, as they report: "He has the reward of two martyrs." And ʿUqbah b. ʿAmr b. Thaʿlabah b. Asīrah b. ʿUsayrah b. Jadārah b. ʿAwf b. al-Ḥārith (b. al-Khazraj), and he is Abū Masʿūd; he was the youngest in age of those who witnessed al-ʿAqabah, (he died in the days of Muʿāwiyah), and he did not witness Badr. Seven men. [Those who witnessed it from the Banū Bayāḍah b. ʿĀmir] And from the Banū Bayāḍah b. ʿĀmir b. Zurayq b. ʿAbd Ḥārithah (b. Mālik b. Ghaḍb b. Jusham b. al-Khazraj): Ziyād b. Labīd b. Ibn Isḥāq said: And Khālid b. Qays b. Mālik b. al-ʿAjlān b. ʿĀmir b. Bayāḍah; he witnessed Badr. Three men. [Those who witnessed it from the Banū Zurayq] And from the Banū Zurayq b. ʿĀmir b. Zurayq b. ʿAbd Ḥārithah b. Mālik b. Ghaḍb b. Jusham b. al-Khazraj: Rāfiʿ b. Mālik b. al-ʿAjlān b. ʿAmr b. ʿĀmir b. Zurayq, a naqīb. And Dhakwān b. ʿAbd Qays b. Khaladah b. Mukhallad b. ʿĀmir b. Zurayq; he had gone out to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he was with him in Makkah, and he emigrated to the Messenger of God ﷺ from Madinah; so he was called "a Muhājirī Anṣārī." He witnessed Badr and was killed on the day of Uḥud as a martyr. And ʿAbbād b. Qays b. ʿĀmir b. Khaladah b. Mukhallad b. ʿĀmir b. Zurayq; he witnessed Badr. And al-Ḥārith b. Qays b. Khālid b. Mukhallad b. ʿĀmir b. Zurayq, and he is Abū Khālid; he witnessed Badr. Four men. [Those who witnessed it from the Banū Salimah b. Saʿd] And from the Banū Salimah b. Saʿd b. ʿAlī b. Asad b. Sāridah b. Tazīd b. Jusham b. al-Khazraj; then from the Banū ʿUbayd b. ʿAdī b. Ghanm b. Kaʿb b. Salamah: al-Barāʾ b. Maʿrūr b. Ṣakhr b. Khansāʾ b. Sinān b. ʿUbayd b. ʿAdī b. Ghanm, a naqīb; he is the one whom the Banū Salimah claim was the first to strike the hand of the Messenger of God ﷺ and stipulate conditions for him, and he stipulated conditions upon him; then he died before the arrival of the Messenger of God ﷺ in Madinah. And his son Bishr b. al-Barāʾ b. Maʿrūr; he witnessed Badr, Uḥud, and the Trench, and he died at Khaybar from a morsel he ate with the Messenger of God ﷺ, from the sheep that was poisoned—and he is the one about whom the Messenger of God ﷺ said, when he asked the Banū Salimah: "Who is your chief, O Banū Salimah?" They said: "Al-Jadd b. Qays, despite his stinginess." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "And what disease is greater than stinginess? The chief of the Banū Salimah is the white, curly-haired Bishr b. al-Barāʾ b. Maʿrūr." And Sinān b. Ṣayfī b. Ṣakhr b. Khansāʾ b. Sinān b. ʿUbayd; he witnessed Badr, and he was killed on the day of the Trench as a martyr. And al-Ṭufayl b. al-Nuʿmān b. Khansāʾ b. Sinān b. ʿUbayd; he witnessed Badr and was killed on the day of the Trench as a martyr. And Maʿqil b. al-Mundhir b. Sarḥ b. Khunās b. Sinān b. ʿUbayd; he witnessed Badr. Ghanm b. Kaʿb b. Salamah: Sulaym b. ʿAmr b. Ḥudaydah b. ʿAmr b. Ghanm; he witnessed Badr. And Quṭbah b. ʿĀmir b. Ḥudaydah b. ʿAmr b. Ghanm; he witnessed Badr. And his brother Yazīd b. ʿĀmir b. Ḥudaydah b. ʿAmr b. Ghanm, and he is Abū al-Mundhir; he witnessed Badr. And Abū al-Yasar, whose name is Kaʿb b. ʿAmr b. ʿAbbād b. ʿAmr b. Ghanm; he witnessed Badr. And Ṣayfī b. Sawād b. ʿAbbād b. ʿAmr b. Ghanm. Five men. [Correction of the name of Ṣayfī] Ibn Hishām said: Ṣayfī b. Aswad b. ʿAbbād b. ʿAmr b. Ghanm b. Sawād, and Sawād has no son called Ghanm. [Those who witnessed it from the Banū Nābī b. ʿAmr] Ibn Isḥāq said: And from the Banū Nābī b. ʿAmr b. Sawād b. Ghanm b. Kaʿb b. Salamah: Thaʿlabah b. Ghanamah b. ʿAdī b. Nābī; he witnessed Badr and was killed at the Trench as a martyr. And ʿAmr b. Ghanamah b. ʿAdī b. Nābī. And ʿAbs b. ʿĀmir b. ʿAdī b. Nābī; he witnessed Badr. And ʿAbd Allāh b. Unays, an ally of theirs from Quḍāʿah. And Khālid b. ʿAmr b. ʿAdī b. Nābī. Five men. [Those who witnessed it from the Banū Ḥarām b. Kaʿb] Ibn Isḥāq said: And from the Banū Ḥarām b. Kaʿb b. Ghanm b. Kaʿb b. Salamah: ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAmr b. Ḥarām b. Thaʿlabah b. Ḥarām, a naqīb; he witnessed Badr and was killed on the day of Uḥud as a martyr, and his son Jābir b. ʿAbd Allāh. And Muʿādh b. ʿAmr b. al-Jamūḥ b. Yazīd b. Ḥarām; he witnessed Badr. And Thābit b. al-Jidhʿ—and al-Jidhʿ is Thaʿlabah b. Zayd b. al-Ḥārith b. Ḥarām—he witnessed Badr and was killed at al-Ṭāʾif as a martyr. And ʿUmayr b. al-Ḥārith b. Thaʿlabah b. al-Ḥārith b. Ḥarām; he witnessed Badr. Ibn Hishām said: ʿUmayr b. al-Ḥārith b. Labdah b. Thaʿlabah. Ibn Isḥāq said: And Khadīj b. Salāmah b. Aws b. ʿAmr b. al-Furāfir, an ally of theirs from Balī. And Muʿādh b. Jabal b. ʿAmr b. Aws b. ʿĀʾidh b. Kaʿb b. ʿAmr b. Addā b. Saʿd b. ʿAlī b. Asad—and it is said: Asad b. Sāridah b. Tazīd b. Jusham b. al-Khazraj—and he was among the Banū Salimah; he witnessed Badr and all the expeditions, and he died at ʿImwās, in the year of the plague in Syria, in the caliphate of ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb ؓ. The Banū Salimah claimed him only because he was the brother of Sahl b. Muḥammad b. al-Jadd b. Qays b. Ṣakhr b. Khansāʾ b. Sinān b. ʿUbayd b. ʿAdī b. Ghanm b. Kaʿb b. Salamah through his mother. [Those who witnessed it from the Banū ʿAwf b. al-Khazraj] Ibn Isḥāq said: And from the Banū ʿAwf b. al-Khazraj; then from the Banū Sālim b. ʿAwf b. ʿAmr b. ʿAwf b. al-Khazraj: ʿUbādah b. al-Ṣāmit b. Qays b. Aṣram b. Fihr b. Thaʿlabah b. Ghanm b. Sālim b. ʿAwf, a naqīb; he witnessed Badr and all the expeditions. Ibn Hishām said: He is Ghanm b. ʿAwf, the brother of Sālim b. ʿAwf b. ʿAmr b. ʿAwf b. al-Khazraj. Ibn Isḥāq said: And al-ʿAbbās b. ʿUbādah b. Naḍlah b. Mālik b. al-ʿIjlān b. Zayd b. Ghanm b. Sālim b. ʿAwf, and he was among those who went out to the Messenger of God ﷺ while he was in Makkah, and stayed with him there. He used to be called "a Muhājirī Anṣārī," and he was killed on the day of Uḥud as a martyr. And Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān Yazīd b. Thaʿlabah b. Khazamah b. Aṣram b. ʿAmr b. ʿAmmārah, an ally of theirs from Banū Ghuṣaynah of Balī. And ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith b. Labdah b. ʿAmr b. Thaʿlabah. Four persons, and they are the Qawāqil. [Those from Banū Sālim b. Ghanm who attended it] And from Banū Sālim b. Ghanm b. ʿAwf b. al-Khazraj, and they are Banū al-Ḥubulī – Ibn Hishām said: al-Ḥubulī is Sālim b. Ghanm b. ʿAwf, and he was named al-Ḥubulī because of the largeness of his belly –: Rifāʿah b. ʿAmr b. Zayd b. ʿAmr b. Thaʿlabah b. Mālik b. Sālim b. Ghanm, he attended Badr, and he is Abū al-Walīd. Ibn Hishām said: It is also said: Rifāʿah is the son of Mālik, and Mālik is the son of al-Walīd b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Mālik b. Thaʿlabah b. Jusham b. Mālik b. Sālim. Ibn Isḥāq said: And ʿUqbah b. Wahb b. Kildah b. al-Jaʿd b. Hilāl b. al-Ḥārith b. ʿAmr b. ʿAdī b. Jusham b. ʿAwf b. Buhthah b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Ghaṭafān b. Saʿd b. Qays b. ʿAylān, an ally of theirs, he attended Badr, and he was among those who went out to the Messenger of God ﷺ as an emigrant from Madinah to Makkah, so he used to be called "a Muhājirī Anṣārī." Ibn Hishām said: Two men. [Those from Banū Sāʿidah b. Kaʿb who attended it] Ibn Isḥāq said: And from Banū Sāʿidah b. Kaʿb b. al-Khazraj: Saʿd b. ʿUbādah b. Dulaym b. Ḥārithah b. Abī Khuzaymah b. Thaʿlabah b. Ṭarīf b. al-Khazraj b. Sāʿidah, a naqīb, and al-Mundhir b. ʿAmr b. Khunays b. Ḥārithah b. Lawdhān b. ʿAbd Wudd b. Zayd b. Thaʿlabah b. Jusham b. al-Khazraj b. Sāʿidah, a naqīb, he attended Badr and Uḥud. He was killed on the day of Biʾr Maʿūnah as a commander for the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he was the one about whom it was said: "He stretched his neck to die." Two men. (Ibn Hishām said: It is also said: al-Mundhir is the son of ʿAmr b. Khansh). Ibn Isḥāq said: The total number of those who attended al-ʿAqabah from the Aws and the Khazraj was seventy-three men and two women from among them. They claim that the two women pledged allegiance, and the Messenger of God ﷺ did not shake hands with women; he would only take their pledge verbally, and when they affirmed, he said: "Go, for I have accepted your pledge." [Those from Banū Māzin b. al-Najjār who attended it] And from Banū Māzin b. al-Najjār: Nusaybah bt. Kaʿb b. ʿAmr b. ʿAwf from Mabdhūl b. ʿAmr b. Ghanm b. Māzin, and she is Umm ʿAmmārah. She attended the war with the Messenger of God ﷺ, and her sister attended with her, and her husband Zayd b. ʿĀṣim b. Kaʿb, and her two sons: Ḥabīb b. Zayd and ʿAbd Allāh b. Zayd. And her son Ḥabīb is the one whom Musaylimah the liar of Banū Ḥanīfah, the master of al-Yamāmah, seized. He kept saying to him: "Do you testify that Muḥammad is the Messenger of God?" He would say: "Yes." Then he would say: "Do you testify that I am the Messenger of God?" He would say: "I do not hear." So he kept cutting him limb by limb until he died in his hands, not adding anything to that. When the Messenger of God ﷺ was mentioned to him, he believed in him and invoked blessings upon him, and when Musaylimah was mentioned to him, he said: "I do not hear." So she went out to al-Yamāmah with the Muslims, and she herself engaged in the fighting, until God killed Musaylimah, and she returned with twelve wounds, between stabs and blows. Ibn Isḥāq said: This account was narrated to me from her by Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā b. Ḥibbān, from ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Abī Ṣaʿṣaʿah. [Those from Banū Salimah who attended it] And from Banū Salimah: Umm Manīʿ; her name is Asmāʾ bt. ʿAmr b. ʿAdī b. Nābī b. ʿAmr b. Sawād b. Ghanm b. Kaʿb b. Salimah.
