The Night Journey and the Ascension
وَبَيْنَا هُوَ يَسِيرُ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِشَيْءٍ يَدْعُوهُ مُتَنَحِّيًا عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ، يَقُولُ: هَلُمَّ يَا مُحَمَّدُ، فَقَالَ جِبْرِيلُ، سِرْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ، فَقَالَ: مَنْ هَذَا؟ هَذَا عَدُوُّ اللَّهِ إِبْلِيسُ، أَرَادَ أَنْ تَمِيلَ إِلَيْهِ.
Translation
✧ And while he was traveling, behold, he came upon something calling him, standing aside from the road, saying: “Come, O Muḥammad.” So Jibrīl said: “Proceed, O Muḥammad.” He said: “Who is this?” (He said): “This is the enemy of Allah, Iblīs. He wanted you to incline to him.”
