The Night Journey and the Ascension
ثُمَّ أَتَى عَلَى قَوْمٍ عَلَى أَقْبَالِهِمْ رِقَاعٌ وَعَلَى أَدْبَارِهِمْ رِقَاعٌ، يَسْرَحُونَ كَمَا تَسْرَحُ الْإِبِلُ وَالْغَنَمُ، وَيَأْكُلُونَ الضَّرِيعَ وَالزَّقُّومَ وَرَضْفَ جَهَنَّمَ وَحِجَارَتَهَا. فَقَالَ: مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ يَا جِبْرِيلُ ؟ قَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤَدُّونَ صَدَقَاتِ أَمْوَالِهِمْ، وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ شَيْئًا
Translation
✧ Then he came upon a people on whose private parts were patches and on whose backsides were patches, roaming as camels and sheep roam, eating ḍarīʿ, zaqqūm, and the hot stones of Jahannam and its rocks. He said: “Who are these, O Jibrīl?” He said: “These are those who do not pay the zakāt of their wealth. And Allah did not wrong them in anything.”
