The Night Journey and the Ascension
ثُمَّ أَتَى عَلَى قَوْمٍ تُرْضَخُ رُؤُوسُهُمْ، كُلَّمَا رُضِخَتْ عَادَتْ كَمَا كَانَتْ. وَلَا يُفَتَّرُ عَنْهُمْ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْءٌ. فَقَالَ: يَا جِبْرِيلُ مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ؟ فَقَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ تَتَشَاغَلُ رُؤُوسُهُمْ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ.
Translation
✧ Then he came upon a people whose heads were being crushed with rocks. Every time they were crushed, they returned as they had been, and there was no letup for them from that. He said, “O Jibrīl, who are these?” He said, “These are the ones whose heads were too preoccupied to perform the obligatory prayer.”
