The Night Journey and the Ascension
[ صِفَةُ أَكَلَةِ أَمْوَالِ الْيَتَامَى ] قَالَ: ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُ رِجَالًا لَهُمْ مَشَافِرُ كَمَشَافِرِ الْإِبِلِ، فِي أَيْدِيهمْ قِطَعٌ مِنْ نَارٍ كَالْأَفْهَارِ، يَقْذِفُونَهَا فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ، فَتَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَدْبَارِهِمْ. فَقُلْتُ: مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ يَا جِبْرِيلُ ؟ قَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ أَكَلَةُ أَمْوَالِ الْيَتَامَى ظُلْمًا. ثُمَّ مَضَى هُنَيْهَةً فَإِذَا هُوَ بِأَقْوَامٍ مَشَافِرُهُمْ كَمَشَافِرِ الْإِبِلِ، فَتُفْتَحُ أَفْوَاهُهُمْ وَيُلْقَمُونَ حَجَرًا، وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: يُجْعَلُ فِي أَفْوَاهِهِمْ صَخْرٌ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ، ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَسَافِلِهِمْ، فَسَمِعَهُمْ يَضِجُّونَ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى. فَقَالَ: يَا جِبْرِيلُ مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ؟ قَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَالَ الْيَتَامَى ظُلْمًا إِنَّمَا يَأْكُلُونَ فِي بُطُونِهِمْ نَارًا وَسَيَصْلَوْنَ سَعِيرًا [النِّسَاءُ: 10]
Translation
✧ [The description of the devourers of the property of orphans] He said: Then I saw men with lips like the lips of camels; in their hands were pieces of fire like [—] they were throwing them into their mouths, and they came out from their rear ends. I said: Who are these, O Jibrīl? He said: These are the devourers of the property of orphans wrongfully. Then he went on a little while, and behold, there were people whose lips were like the lips of camels; their mouths were opened and stones were made to enter them, and in one narration: a rock from Jahannam was placed in their mouths, then it came out from their lower parts. He heard them crying out to Allah, the Exalted. He said: O Jibrīl, who are these? He said: These are those who devour the property of orphans wrongfully. They only swallow fire into their bellies, and they will burn in a blazing fire [al-Nisāʾ: 10].
