The Night Journey and the Ascension
[ صِفَةُ الزُّنَاةِ ] قَالَ: ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُ رِجَالًا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ لَحْمٌ ثَمِينٌ طَيِّبٌ، إلَى جَنْبِهِ لَحْمٌ غَثٌّ مُنْتِنٌ، يَأْكُلُونَ مِنْ الْغَثِّ الْمُنْتِنِ، وَيَتْرُكُونَ السَّمِينَ الطَّيِّبَ. قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ يَا جِبْرِيلُ ؟ قَالَ: هَؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ يَتْرُكُونَ مَا أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ مِنْ النِّسَاءِ، وَيَذْهَبُونَ إلَى مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْهُنَّ. وفي رواية ثُمَّ أَتَى عَلَى قَوْمٍ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ لَحْمٌ نَضِيجٌ فِي قُدُورٍ، وَلَحْمٌ آخَرُ نِيءٌ خَبِيثٌ، فَجَعَلُوا يَأْكُلُونَ مِنَ النِّيءِ الْخَبِيثِ وَيَدْعُونَ النَّضِيجَ. فَقَالَ: مَا هَذَا يَا جِبْرِيلُ ؟ قَالَ: هَذَا الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أُمَّتِكَ تَكُونُ عِنْدَهُ الْمَرْأَةُ الْحَلَالُ الطَّيِّبُ، فَيَأْتِي امْرَأَةً خَبِيثَةً، فَيَبِيتُ عِنْدَهَا حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ، وَالْمَرْأَةُ تَقُومُ مِنْ عِنْدِ زَوْجِهَا حَلَالًا طَيِّبًا، فَتَأْتِي رَجُلًا خَبِيثًا فَتَبِيتُ مَعَهُ حَتَّى تُصْبِحَ.
Translation
✧ [The description of the adulterers] He said: Then I saw men before whom there was rich, good meat, and beside it lean, stinking meat, eating from the lean, stinking meat and leaving the rich, good meat. He said: I said: Who are these, O Jibrīl? He said: These are those who leave what Allah has made lawful for them of women, and go to what Allah has forbidden them of them. In another narration: Then he came upon a people before whom there was cooked meat in pots, and other raw, foul meat, and they began to eat from the raw, foul meat and leave the cooked meat. So he said: What is this, O Jibrīl? He said: This is the man of your community who has a lawful, good wife, then he comes to a foul woman and spends the night with her until morning. And the woman who leaves her husband, lawful and good, and comes to a foul man and spends the night with him until morning.
