The matter of the Christian delegation who embraced Islam, and what occurred concerning Quraysh's mockery of them and the believers
وَفْدُ النَّصَارَى الَّذِينَ أَسْلَمُوا وَمَا جَاءَ فِي اسْتِهْزَاءِ قُرَيْشٍ بِهِمْ وَبِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ: لَمَّا هَاجَرَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ إِلَى الْحَبَشَةِ وَوَصَلَ خَبَرُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَيْهَا خَرَجَ عِشْرُونَ رَجُلًا مِنْ نَصَارَى الْحَبَشَةِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا أَتَوْهُ وَسَمِعُوا مِنْهُ فَاضَتْ أَعْيُنُهُمْ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ مِمَّا عَرَفُوا مِنَ الْحَقِّ وَاسْتَجَابُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِرَسُولِهِ ﷺ وَأَسْلَمُوا وَظَلَّ أَبُو جَهْلٍ وَالْمُشْرِكُونَ يَسُبُّونَهُمْ وَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنْهُمْ وَيَتَهَكَّمُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمْ يَرُدُّوا عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُجَاهِلُوهُمْ بِمِثْلِ جَهْلِهِمْ.
Translation
✧ The delegation of the Christians who embraced Islam, and what came concerning Quraysh's mockery of them and the believers: When the Muslims emigrated to Abyssinia and news of the Prophet ﷺ reached it, twenty men from the Christians of Abyssinia set out to the Prophet ﷺ. When they came to him and heard from him, their eyes overflowed with tears because of the truth they recognized, and they responded to God and to His Messenger ﷺ and embraced Islam. Abū Jahl and the polytheists kept insulting them, mocking them, and deriding them, but they did not respond to them, nor did they treat them with the like of their ignorance.
