The reports of the Jewish rabbis, Christian monks, and soothsayers and their glad tidings of the sending of the Beloved of the Most Merciful ﷺ

✧ The reports of the soothsayers of the Arabs, the rabbis of the Jews, and the monks of the Christians [ The knowledge of the soothsayers, rabbis, and monks of his ﷺ sending ] Ibn Isḥāq said: The rabbis of the Jews, the monks of the Christians, and the soothsayers of the Arabs had spoken of the affair of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ before his sending, when his time drew near. As for the rabbis of the Jews and the monks of the Christians, it was from what they found in their scriptures of his description and the description of his time, and from the covenant of their prophets to them concerning him. As for the soothsayers of the Arabs, the devils from the jinn brought it to them in what they stole of hearing, when they were not veiled from that by the pelting with stars. And the soothsayer, male and female, would not cease to have mention of some of his affairs fall from them, which the Arabs paid no heed to, until Allah the Exalted sent him, and those matters which they had been mentioning came to pass, and they recognized them.
