The story of the creation of Adam (peace be upon him)
وَكَانَ آدَمُ مَعَ مَا أَعْطَاهُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى مِنْ مُلْكِ الْأَرْضِ نَبِيًّا رَسُولًا إِلَى وَلَدِهِ، وَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ إِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ صَحِيفَةً كَتَبَهَا آدَمُ بِيَدِهِ عَلَّمَهُ إِيَّاهَا جَبْرَائِيلُ. وَرَوَى أَبُو ذَرٍّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: الْأَنْبِيَاءُ مِائَةُ أَلْفٍ وَأَرْبَعَةٌ وَعِشْرُونَ أَلْفًا. قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، كَمِ الرُّسُلُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: ثَلَاثُمِائَةٍ وَثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ جَمًّا غَفِيرًا، يَعْنِي كَثِيرًا، طَيِّبًا قَالَ: قُلْتُ: مَنْ أَوَّلُهُمْ ؟ قَالَ: آدَمُ. قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، وَهُوَ نَبِيٌّ مُرْسَلٌ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، خَلَقَهُ اللَّهُ بِيَدِهِ، وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ مِنْ رُوحِهِ، ثُمَّ سَوَّاهُ قَبْلًا، وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ تَحْرِيمُ الْمَيْتَةِ، وَالدَّمِ، وَلَحْمِ الْخِنْزِيرِ، وَحُرُوفُ الْمُعْجَمِ فِي إِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ وَرَقَةً. وقَدْ رَوَى أَبُو أُمَامَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ، أَنَبِيًّا كَانَ آَدَمُ ؟ قَالَ: "نَعَمْ مُكَلَّمًا". وَرَوَى ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ: "أَوَّلُ الْمُرْسَلِينِ آَدَمُ " .
Translation
✧ And Adam, along with what God Almighty granted him of dominion over the earth, was a prophet and messenger to his children, and God sent down upon him twenty-one scriptures which Adam wrote with his own hand, taught to him by Gabriel. Abū Dharr narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: “The prophets are one hundred twenty-four thousand.” He said: I said, “O Messenger of God, how many messengers are among that?” He said: “Three hundred and thirteen, a great throng,” meaning many, good. He said: I said, “Who was the first of them?” He said: “Adam.” He said: I said, “O Messenger of God, was he a prophet sent as a messenger?” He said: “Yes, God created him with His hand, and breathed into him of His spirit, then fashioned him upright. And he was among those upon whom was sent down the prohibition of carrion, blood, and the flesh of swine, and the letters of the alphabet in twenty-one leaves.” And Abū Umāmah narrated that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “O Prophet of God, was Adam a prophet?” He said: “Yes, one spoken to.” Ibn ʿAbbās narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: “The first of the messengers was Adam.”
