The Death of Aminah and the Situation of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with His Grandfather ʿAbd al-Muttalib Thereafter
[ سَبَبُ خُؤُولَةِ بَنِي عَدِيِّ بْنِ النَّجَّارِ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: أُمُّ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ هَاشِمٍ: سَلْمَى بِنْتُ عَمْرٍو النَّجَّارِيَّةُ. فَهَذِهِ الْخُؤُولَةُ الَّتِي ذَكَرَهَا ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِيهِمْ.
Translation
✧ [The reason for the maternal uncleship of Banū ʿAdī b. al-Najjār to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ] Ibn Hishām said: The mother of ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib b. Hāshim was Salmā bt. ʿAmr al-Najjāriyyah. So this is the maternal relationship which Ibn Isḥāq mentioned for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ among them.
