Translation

✧ THE DEPARTURE OF SAYF B. DHĪ YAZAN AND THE RULE OF WAHRIZ OVER YEMEN [IBN DHĪ YAZAN WITH CAESAR] When the affliction became prolonged upon the people of Yemen, Sayf b. Dhī Yazan al-Ḥimyarī—who was given the kunyah Abū Murrah—departed until he came to Caesar, the king of the Romans. He complained to him of what they were in and asked him to expel them from it and that he himself assume authority over them, and that he send to them whomsoever he wished of the Romans, so that the dominion of Yemen would be his. But he did not relieve his grievance (and did not find with him anything of what he desired).
