Genealogy of Our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and Some Accounts of His Forefathers and Ancestors

[ مُلْكُ يَكْسُومَ ثُمَّ مَسْرُوقٍ عَلَى الْيَمَنِ   ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: فَلَمَّا هَلَكَ أَبْرَهَةُ، مَلَّكَ الْحَبَشَةَ ابْنَهُ يَكْسُومَ بْنَ أَبْرَهَةَ، وَبِهِ كَانَ يُكَنَّى، فَلَمَّا هَلَكَ يَكْسُومُ بْنُ أَبْرَهَةَ، مَلَكَ الْيَمَنَ فِي الْحَبَشَةِ أَخُوهُ مَسْرُوقُ بْنُ أَبْرَهَةَ.

Translation

✧ [The reign of Yaksūm, then Masrūq, over Yemen] Ibn Isḥāq said: When Abrahah perished, the Abyssinians made his son Yaksūm b. Abrahah king—he was the one by whom he was given his kunyah. When Yaksūm b. Abrahah perished, his brother Masrūq b. Abrahah ruled Yemen among the Abyssinians.
