ذِكْرُ عِدَّةِ حَوَادِثَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ تَتَابَعَتِ الْأَمْطَارُ، وَكَثُرَتِ الْبُرُوقُ وَالرُّعُودُ، وَالْبَرَدُ الْكِبَارُ، وَسَالَتْ مِنْهُ الْأَوْدِيَةُ، وَامْتَلَأَتِ الْأَنْهَارُ وَالْآبَارُ بِبِلَادِ الْجَبَلِ، وَخَرِبَتِ الْمَسَاكِنُ، وَامْتَلَأَتِ الْأَقْنَاءُ طِينًا وَحِجَارَةً، وَانْقَطَعَتِ الطُّرُقُ. وَفِيهَا عَصَى نَصْرُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْفَيْرَزَانِ بِالدَّامَغَانَ عَلَى فَخْرِ الدَّوْلَةِ ، وَاجْتَازَ بِهِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الشَّبِيبِيُّ الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ مُقْبِلًا مِنَ الرَّيِّ وَمَعَهُ عَسْكَرٌ مِنَ الدَّيْلَمِ لِمُحَارَبَتِهِ، فَلَمَّا رَأَى الْجِدَّ فِي أَمْرِهِ رَاسَلَ فَخْرَ الدَّوْلَةِ، وَعَاوَدَ طَاعَتَهُ، فَأَجَابَهُ إِلَى قَبُولِ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ وَأَقَرَّهُ عَلَى حَالِهِ. وَفِيهَا تُوُفِّيَ الْأَمِيرُ أَبُو عَلِيِّ بْنُ فَخْرِ الدَّوْلَةِ فِي رَجَبٍ. وَفِيهَا وَقَعَ الْوَبَاءُ بِالْبَصْرَةِ وَالْبَطَائِحِ مِنْ شِدَّةِ الْحَرِّ، فَمَاتَ خَلْقٌ كَثِيرٌ حَتَّى امْتَلَأَتْ مِنْهُمُ الشَّوَارِعُ. وَفِي شَعْبَانَ كَثُرَتِ الرِّيَاحُ الْعَوَاصِفُ، وَجَاءَتْ وَقْتَ الْعَصْرِ، خَامِسَ شَعْبَانَ، رِيحٌ عَظِيمَةٌ بِفَمِ الصِّلْحِ، فَهَدَمَتْ قِطْعَةً مِنَ الْجَامِعِ، وَأَهْلَكَتْ جَمَاعَةً مِنَ النَّاسِ، وَغَرَّقَتْ كَثِيرًا مِنَ السُّفُنِ الْكِبَارِ الْمَمْلُوءَةِ، وَاحْتَمَلَتْ زَوْرَقًا مُنْحَدِرًا فِيهِ دَوَابُّ، وَعِدَّةً مِنَ السُّفُنِ، وَأَلْقَتِ الْجَمِيعَ عَلَى مَسَافَةٍ مِنْ مَوْضِعِهَا.
Translation
✧ An account of several events In this year the rains were continuous, and lightning and thunder were frequent, and large hail, from which the valleys flowed, and the rivers and wells in the lands of al-Jabal were filled, and dwellings were ruined, and the water channels became filled with mud and stones, and the roads were cut off. In it Naṣr b. al-Ḥasan b. al-Fayrazān rebelled at al-Dāmaghān against Fakhr al-Dawlah, and Aḥmad b. Saʿīd al-Shabībī al-Khurāsānī passed by him, coming from al-Rayy, and with him an army of the Daylam to fight him. When he saw the seriousness of his affair, he wrote to Fakhr al-Dawlah and returned to his obedience, and he accepted that from him and confirmed him in his position. In it the amīr Abū ʿAlī b. Fakhr al-Dawlah died in Rajab. In it the epidemic occurred at al-Baṣrah and al-Baṭāʾiḥ from the intense heat, and many people died until the streets were filled with them. In Shaʿbān the violent winds were frequent, and at the time of the afternoon prayer, on the fifth of Shaʿbān, a great wind came at Fam al-Ṣilḥ, and it demolished a part of the congregational mosque, destroyed a group of people, drowned many large ships that were fully laden, and carried off a descending boat in which there were animals, and several ships, and threw them all at a distance from their place.
