✧ Mention of the killing of Sulaymān b. Abī ʿAlī b. Ilyās In this year, Sulaymān b. Abī ʿAlī b. Ilyās, whose father was the lord of Kirmān, was killed. The reason for that was that he mentioned to the Emir Manṣūr b. Nūḥ, the lord of Khurāsān, that the people of Kirmān from the Qufṣ and the Billūṣ were with him and in obedience to him, and he made him covet Kirmān. So he sent an army with him to it. When he reached it, the Qufṣ and the Billūṣ and other peoples who had broken away from the obedience of ʿAḍud al-Dawla agreed with him, and his affair became mighty and his gathering became great. Then Kūrkīr b. Jastān, the deputy of ʿAḍud al-Dawla in Kirmān, met him and fought him. Sulaymān and the two sons of his brother Ilyasaʿ—namely Bakr and al-Ḥusayn—and a great number of commanders and Khurāsānians were killed. Their heads were carried to ʿAḍud al-Dawla in Shīrāz, and he sent them to his father Rukn al-Dawla. He took a great many of them as prisoners.
