Then the year 358 AH began
وَفِيهَا نُفِيَ شِيرَزَادُ، وَكَانَ قَدْ غُلِبَ عَلَى أَمْرِ بَخْتِيَارَ، وَصَارَ يَحْكُمُ عَلَى الْوَزِيرِ وَالْجُنْدِ وَغَيْرِهِمْ، فَأَوْحَشَ الْأَجْنَادَ، وَعَزَمَ الْأَتْرَاكُ عَلَى قَتْلِهِ، فَمَنَعَهُمْ سُبُكْتِكِينُ وَقَالَ لَهُمْ: خَوِّفُوهُ لِيَهْرَبَ، فَهَرَبَ مِنْ بَغْدَاذَ، وَعَهِدَ إِلَى بَخْتِيَارَ لِيَحْفَظَ مَالَهُ وَمُلْكَهُ، فَلَمَّا سَارَ عَنْ بَغْدَاذَ قَبَضَ بَخْتِيَارُ أَمْوَالَهُ وَأَمْلَاكَهُ وَدُورَهُ وَكَانَ هَذَا مِمَّا يُعَابُ بِهِ بَخْتِيَارُ. ثُمَّ إِنَّ شِيرَزَادَ سَارَ إِلَى رُكْنِ الدَّوْلَةِ لِيُصْلِحَ أَمْرَهُ مَعَ بَخْتِيَارَ، فَتُوُفِّيَ بِالرَّيِّ عِنْدَ وُصُولِهِ إِلَيْهَا.
Translation
✧ In this year Shīrazād was exiled. He had gained ascendancy over Bakhtiyār's affairs, and came to hold sway over the vizier, the army, and others. He alienated the troops, and the Turks resolved to kill him, but Subuktikīn prevented them and said to them: 'Frighten him so that he will flee.' So he fled from Baghdādh, having entrusted Bakhtiyār to safeguard his wealth and his possessions. When he departed from Baghdādh, Bakhtiyār seized his wealth, his estates, and his houses. This was one of the things for which Bakhtiyār was censured. Then Shīrazād journeyed to Rukn al-Dawlah to set his affair right with Bakhtiyār, but he died at al-Rayy upon his arrival there.
