Translation

✧ In Jumādā al-Ūlā, Abū ʿAbd Allāh b. Abī Bakr al-Ādamī the Qurʾān reciter went out from his house and took from [some of] the money-changers more than ten thousand dirhams, and he was missing for four days without any news of him being known. When it was Friday, with eleven nights remaining of Jumādā al-Ūlā, he was found dead, thrown into the Sarāt canal, with his trousers on and his ring on his finger, and there was no wound on him, nor any trace of strangulation or drowning; he was only thrown into the water after he had died.
