Then the year 357 AH began
وَفِي يَوْمِ الِاثْنَيْنِ لِثَلَاثٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ رَبِيعِ الْآخَرِ: صُرِفَ الْقَاضِي أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ابْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ عَنِ الْقَضَاءِ فِي حَرِيمِ دَارِ السُّلْطَانِ، وَتَقَلَّدَهُ الْقَاضِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ مُضَافًا إِلَى مَا كَانَ إِلَيْهِ مِنَ الْجَانِبِ الشَّرْقِيِّ، وَأُزِيدَ مَا كَانَ إِلَى ابْنِ مَعْرُوفٍ مِنَ الْإِشْرَافِ عَلَى الْحُكَّامِ وَالْأَحْكَامِ.
Translation
✧ On Monday, when three nights remained of Rabīʿ al-Ākhir: Judge Abū Muḥammad ʿUbayd Allāh b. Maʿrūf was dismissed from the judiciary in the ḥarīm of the sultan’s palace, and Judge Abū Bakr Aḥmad b. Sayyār assumed it, in addition to what he already held of the eastern district; and there was increased for him what had been Ibn Maʿrūf’s of oversight over the judges and judicial rulings.
