Then the year 357 AH began
وَفِيهَا كَانَ بَيْنَ هِبَةِ الرِّفْعَايِّ وَبَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ وَزِيرِ الْغُبَرِيِّ حَرْبٌ، فَاسْتَمَدَّتْ أَسَدٌ خَزَرَ الْيَشْكُرِيَّ الَّذِي مَعَ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ شَاهِينَ، صَاحِبِ الْبَطَائِحِ، وَأَوْقَعَ بِهِبَةَ، وَقَتَلَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ مَقْتَلَةً عَظِيمَةً وَهَزَمَهُ، وَاسْتَوْلَى عَلَى جُنْبُلَا وَقُسِّينَ مِنْ أَرْضِ الْعِرَاقِ، فَسَارَ سُبُكْتِكِينُ الْعَجَمِيُّ إِلَى خَزَرٍ، وَضَيَّقَ عَلَيْهِ، فَمَضَى إِلَى الْبَصْرَةِ وَاسْتَأْمَنَ إِلَى الْوَزِيرِ أَبِي الْفَضْلِ
Translation
✧ In this year there was war between Hibat al-Rifʿāʾī and Banū Asad b. Wazīr al-Ghubarī, so Asad sought reinforcement from Khazar al-Yashkurī, who was with ʿImrān b. Shāhīn, the lord of the marshes. He fell upon Hiba, killed a great number of his companions, routed him, and took control of Junbulā and Qussīn in the land of Iraq. Then Subuktikīn al-ʿAjamī marched against Khazar and pressed him hard, so he went to al-Baṣrah and sought quarter from the vizier Abū al-Faḍl.
