Then the year 357 AH began
[اسْتِيلَاءُ الْقَرَامِطَةِ عَلَى دِمَشْقَ ] وَفِي سَنَةِ سَبْعٍ: مَلَكَ الْقَرَامِطَةُ دِمَشْقَ، وَلَمْ يَحُجَّ أَحَدٌ فِيهَا لَا مِنَ الشَّامِ وَلَا مِنْ مِصْرَ، وَعَزَمُوا عَلَى قَصْدِ مِصْرَ لِيَمْلِكُوهَا، فَجَاءَ الْعُبَيْدِيُّونَ فَأَخَذُوهَا، وَقَامَتْ دَوْلَةُ الرَّفْضِ فِي الْأَقَالِيمِ: الْمَغْرِبِ وَمِصْرَ وَالْعِرَاقِ.
Translation
✧ [The Qarāmiṭah's Seizure of Damascus] In the year seven: the Qarāmiṭah took possession of Damascus, and no one performed the pilgrimage in it, neither from Syria nor from Egypt. They resolved to make for Egypt to take possession of it, but the ʿUbaydīs came and seized it, and the state of rejection (rafḍ) arose in the regions: the Maghrib, Egypt, and Iraq.
