Translation
✧ In it a man from the Qarāmiṭa who had been granted safe-conduct to Sayf al-Dawla revolted. His name was Marwān, and he was in charge of the coastal regions for Sayf al-Dawla. When he gained control, he rose up in Ḥimṣ and took possession of it and other places besides. A ghulām of Qarghawayh, the chamberlain of Sayf al-Dawla, whose name was Badr, went out against him and fought the Qarmaṭī in several battles. In one of them, Badr shot Marwān with a poisoned arrow, and it happened that Marwān's companions captured Badr. Marwān killed him, then lived after his killing for some days and died.
