Then the year 350 AH began
Translation
✧ In this year died the judge Abū al-Sāʾib ʿUtbah b. ʿAbd Allāh, and his properties were seized. After him the judiciary was assumed by Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥasan b. Abī al-Shawārib, and he guaranteed to pay to Muʿizz al-Dawlah every year two hundred thousand dirhams. So Muʿizz al-Dawlah bestowed a robe of honor upon him, and he proceeded with drums and trumpets to his house. He was the first to guarantee the judiciary. The caliph al-Muṭīʿ li-Allāh did not permit him to attend his court nor to attend the procession because of that. Then Muʿizz al-Dawlah guaranteed the police and also guaranteed the market inspection.
