Then the year 349 AH began
وَفِيهَا خَامِسَ شَعْبَانَ، وَكَانَ بِبَغْدَادَ فِتْنَةٌ عَظِيمَةٌ بَيْنَ الْعَامَّةِ، وَتَعَطَّلَتِ الْجُمُعَةُ مِنَ الْغَدِ لِاتِّصَالِ الْفِتْنَةِ فِي الْجَانِبَيْنِ، سِوَى مَسْجِدِ بَرَاثَا، ( فَإِنَّ الْجُمُعَةَ تَمَّتْ فِيهِ )، وَقُبِضَ عَلَى جَمَاعَةٍ مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ اتُّهِمُوا أَنَّهُمْ سَبَبُ الْفِتْنَةِ، ثُمَّ أُطْلِقُوا مِنَ الْغَدِ.
Translation
✧ In it, on the fifth of Shaʿbān, there was a great disturbance in Baghdad among the common people, and the Friday prayer was suspended from the next day due to the ongoing disturbance on both sides, except for the Mosque of Barāthā (for the Friday prayer was completed there). A group from the Banū Hāshim was arrested, accused of being the cause of the disturbance, then they were released the next day.
