ذِكْرُ عَزْلِ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ عَنْ خُرَاسَانَ لَمَّا اتَّصَلَ خَبَرُ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ عَنِ الرَّيِّ إِلَى الْأَمِيرِ نُوحٍ، سَاءَهُ ذَلِكَ، وَكَتَبَ وَشْمَكِيرُ إِلَى نُوحٍ يُلْزِمُ الذَّنْبَ فِيهِ أَبَا عَلِيٍّ، فَكَتَبَ إِلَى أَبِي عَلِيٍّ بِعَزْلِهِ عَنْ خُرَاسَانَ، وَكَتَبَ إِلَى الْقُوَّادِ يُعَرِّفُهُمْ أَنَّهُ قَدْ عَزَلَهُ عَنْهُمْ، فَاسْتَعْمَلَ عَلَى الْجُيُوشِ بَعْدَهُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ بَكْرَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ الْفَرْغَانِيَّ، فَأَنْفَذَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ يَعْتَذِرُ، وَرَاسَلَ جَمَاعَةً مِنْ أَعْيَانِ نَيْسَابُورَ يُقِيمُونَ عُذْرَهُ، وَيَسْأَلُونَ أَنْ لَا يُعْزَلَ عَنْهُمْ، فَلَمْ يُجَابُوا إِلَى ذَلِكَ، وَعُزِلَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ عَنْ خُرَاسَانَ، وَأَظْهَرَ الْخِلَافَ وَخَطَبَ لِنَفْسِهِ بِنَيْسَابُورَ. وَكَتَبَ ( نُوحٌ إِلَى ) وَشْمَكِيرَ وَالْحَسَنِ بْنِ فَيَرُزَانَ يَأْمُرُهُمَا بِالصُّلْحِ، وَأَنْ يَتَسَاعَدَا عَلَى مَنْ يُخَالِفُ الدَّوْلَةَ، فَفَعَلَا ذَلِكَ، فَلَمَّا عَلِمَ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ بِاتِّفَاقِ النَّاسِ مَعَ نُوحٍ، كَاتَبَ عَلَيْهِ رُكْنَ الدَّوْلَةِ فِي الْمَصِيرِ إِلَيْهِ ; لِأَنَّهُ عَلِمَ أَنَّهُ يُمْكِنُهُ الْمَقَامُ بِخُرَاسَانَ، وَلَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَى الْعَوْدِ إِلَى الصَّغَانِيَانِ، فَاضْطُرَّ إِلَى مُكَاتَبَةِ رُكْنِ الدَّوْلَةِ فِي الْمَصِيرِ إِلَيْهِ، فَأَذِنَ لَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the dismissal of Abu 'Ali from Khurasan When news of Abu 'Ali reached the amir Nuh from al-Rayy, it distressed him, and Washmakir wrote to Nuh blaming Abu 'Ali for that. So he wrote to Abu 'Ali dismissing him from Khurasan, and he wrote to the commanders informing them that he had dismissed him from them. He appointed over the armies after him Abu Sa'id Bakr b. Malik al-Farghani. Abu 'Ali sent to apologize, and he corresponded with a group of the notables of Naysabur to present his excuse and ask that he not be dismissed from them, but they were not answered to that, and Abu 'Ali was dismissed from Khurasan. He openly displayed opposition and gave the khutbah for himself in Naysabur. Nuh wrote to Washmakir and al-Hasan b. Fayruzan commanding them to make peace and to assist one another against whoever opposed the dynasty. They did that. When Abu 'Ali learned of the people's agreement with Nuh, he corresponded with Rukn al-Dawlah about going to him; for he knew that he could remain in Khurasan, but he was not able to return to al-Saghaniyan, so he was compelled to correspond with Rukn al-Dawlah about going to him, and he gave him permission for that.
