ذِكْرُ مَنْ تُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ مِنَ الْأَكَابِرِ 2503 - أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ. حَدَّثَ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، وَعَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ الدِّمَشْقِيِّ بِتَارِيخِهِ، وَرَحَلَ، وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي جُمَادَى الْآخِرَةِ مِنْ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ. 2504 - عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَمْدَوَيْهِ بْنِ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَيِّعُ، وَالِدُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَاكِمِ . أَذَّنَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ سَنَةً، وَغَزَا اثْنَتَيْنِ وَعِشْرِينَ غَزَاةً، وَكَانَ يُدِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ بِاللَّيْلِ، وَأَنْفَقَ عَلَى الْعُلَمَاءِ وَالزُّهَّادِ مِائَةَ أَلْفِ دِرْهَمٍ، وَقَدْ رَأَى عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَحْمَدَ، وَمُسْلِمَ بْنَ الْحَجَّاجِ، وَرَوَى عَنِ ابْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ وَغَيْرِهِ. وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ ثَلَاثٍ وَتِسْعِينَ سَنَةً. 2505 - قُدَامَةُ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ قُدَامَةَ، أَبُو الْفَرَجِ [الْكَاتِبُ] . لَهُ كِتَابٌ حَسَنٌ فِي الْخَرَاجِ وَصِنَاعَةِ الْكِتَابَةِ، وَقَدْ سَأَلَ ثَعْلَبًا عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ. 2506 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ [بْنِ يَزِيدَ] بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي خُبْزَةَ، أَبُو بَكْرٍ الرَّقِّيُّ . قَدِمَ بَغْدَادَ فِي سَنَةِ ثَلَاثِينَ وَثَلَاثِمِائَةٍ، وَحَدَّثَ بِهَا عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ الْعَلَاءِ وَغَيْرِهِ. رَوَى عَنْهُ الدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ. قَالَ الْخَطِيبُ: مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْ حَالِهِ إِلَّا خَيْرًا. 2507 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ الْوَاسِطِيُّ : سَمِعَ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ، وَكَانَ ثِقَةً، وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي شَوَّالٍ هَذِهِ السَّنَةَ. 2508 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْمُذَكِّرُ ، كَانَ يُذْكَرُ فِي [بَعْضِ] مَوَاضِعَ مِنْ نَيْسَابُورَ وَيَجْتَمِعُ إِلَيْهِ الْخَلْقُ، وَسَمِعَ الْحَدِيثَ مِنْ مَشَايِخٍ فَلَمْ يَقْتَصِرْ عَلَيْهِمْ حَتَّى رَوَى عَنْ مَشَايِخِ آبَائِهِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَسْمَعُ مِنْهُمْ، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَقْتَصِرْ عَلَى ذَلِكَ حَتَّى حَدَّثَ عَنْ هَؤُلَاءِ الشُّيُوخِ بِمَا لَمْ يُتَابَعْ عَلَيْهِ هَذَا عَلَى كِبَرِ سِنِّهِ، فَإِنَّهُ تُوُفِّيَ فِي [شَعْبَانَ] هَذِهِ السَّنَةَ، وَهُوَ ابْنُ مِائَةٍ وَسَبْعِ سِنِينَ. 2509 - مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُطَهِّرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، أَبُو النِّجَاءِ الْفَرْضِيُّ الضَّرِيرُ . كَانَ حَاذِقًا بِالْفَرَائِضِ، لَهُ فِيهَا مُصَنَّفَاتٌ بَعِيدُ الْمَثَلِ، وَكَانَ فَقِيهًا عَلَى مَذْهَبِ مَالِكٍ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهِ، وَلَهُ كِتَابٌ مُصَنَّفٌ فِي الْفِقْهِ عَلَى مَذْهَبِهِ، وَكَانَ أَدِيبًا [فَهِمًا] فَطِنًا. وَتُوُفِّيَ فِي رَمَضَانَ هَذِهِ السَّنَةَ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the notables who died in this year 2503 - Aḥmad b. Ismāʿīl b. al-Qāsim b. ʿĀṣim, Abū Jaʿfar. He related from Abū Bakr b. Abī Maryam, and from Abū Zurʿa al-Dimashqī his Tārīkh, and he journeyed, and he died in Jumādā al-Ākhira of this year. 2504 - ʿAbd Allāh b. Muḥammad b. Ḥamdawayh b. Nuʿaym b. al-Ḥakam, Abū Muḥammad al-Bayyiʿ, the father of Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Ḥākim. He called the adhān for thirty-three years, went on campaign twenty-two times, and he constantly prayed at night, and he spent one hundred thousand dirhams on scholars and ascetics. He had seen ʿAbd Allāh b. Aḥmad and Muslim b. al-Ḥajjāj, and he related from Ibn Khuzayma and others. He died in this year at the age of ninety-three. 2505 - Qudāma b. Jaʿfar b. Qudāma, Abū al-Faraj [al-Kātib]. He has a fine book on the kharāj and the craft of writing, and he had asked Thaʿlab about things. 2506 - Muḥammad b. al-Ḥasan [b. Yazīd] b. ʿUbayd b. Abī Khubza, Abū Bakr al-Raqqī. He came to Baghdad in the year 330 and related there from Hilāl b. al-ʿAlāʾ and others. Al-Dāraquṭnī related from him. Al-Khaṭīb said: I know nothing of his condition but good. 2507 - Muḥammad b. al-Ḥusayn b. Muḥammad b. Saʿīd, Abū ʿAbd Allāh al-Zaʿfarānī al-Wāsiṭī: He heard Abū Bakr b. Abī Khaythama, and he was trustworthy, and he died in Shawwāl of this year. 2508 - Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. ʿUmar, Abū ʿAlī al-Mudhakkir, He used to give admonition in [some] places of Naysābūr and the people gathered to him, and he heard ḥadīth from shaykhs but did not confine himself to them, until he related from the shaykhs of his forefathers whom he had not heard from. Then he did not confine himself to that, until he related from these shaykhs what was not corroborated. This, despite his advanced age, for he died in [Shaʿbān] of this year, at the age of one hundred and seven. 2509 - Muḥammad b. Muṭahhir b. ʿUbayd, Abū al-Nijāʾ al-Faraḍī the blind. He was skilled in the law of inheritance, having remarkable works on it, and he was a jurist according to the school of Mālik, may God have mercy on him, and he had a book composed on jurisprudence according to his school, and he was a man of letters, [intelligent], astute. He died in Ramaḍān of this year.
