Then the year 337 AH began
فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ سَارَ سَيْفُ الدَّوْلَةِ بْنُ حَمْدَانَ إِلَى بَلَدِ الرُّومِ، فَلَقِيَهُ الرُّومُ، وَاقْتَتَلُوا ، فَانْهَزَمَ سَيْفُ الدَّوْلَةِ، وَأَخَذَ الرُّومُ مَرْعَشَ، وَأَوْقَعُوا بِأَهْلِ طَرَسُوسَ.
Translation
✧ In this year Sayf al-Dawlah b. Ḥamdān marched to the land of the Byzantines. The Byzantines met him, and they fought. Sayf al-Dawlah was defeated, and the Byzantines took Marʿash and inflicted a blow on the people of Ṭarsūs.
