ذِكْرُ إِمَارَةِ كُورَتِكِينَ الدَّيْلَمِيِّ لَمَّا هَرَبَ الْبَرِيدِيُّ، اسْتَوْلَى كُورَتِكِينُ عَلَى الْأُمُورِ بِبَغْدَاذَ، وَدَخَلَ إِلَى الْمُتَّقِي لِلَّهِ، فَقَلَّدَهُ إِمَارَةَ الْأُمَرَاءِ، وَخَلَعَ عَلَيْهِ، وَاسْتَدْعَى الْمُتَّقِي عَلِيَّ بْنَ عِيسَى وَأَخَاهُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عِيسَى، فَأَمَرَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ فَدَبَّرَ الْأَمْرَ مِنْ غَيْرِ تَسْمِيَةٍ بِوِزَارَةٍ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ كُورَتِكِينَ قَبَضَ تُكَيْنَكَ التُّرْكِيَّ خَامِسَ شَوَّالٍ، وَغَرَّقَهُ، وَتَفَرَّدَ بِالْأَمْرِ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ الْعَامَّةَ اجْتَمَعُوا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ سَادِسَ شَوَّالٍ، وَتَظَلَّمُوا مِنَ الدَّيْلَمِ وَنُزُولِهِمْ فِي دُورِهِمْ، فَلَمْ يُنْكِرْ ذَلِكَ، فَمَنَعَتِ الْعَامَّةُ الْخَطِيبَ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ، وَاقْتَتَلُوا هُمْ وَالدَّيْلَمُ، فَقُتِلَ مِنَ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ جَمَاعَةٌ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the Emirate of Kūratikīn al-Daylamī When al-Barīdī fled, Kūratikīn took control of affairs in Baghdādh, and he entered upon al-Muttaqī li-llāh, who invested him with the emirate of the emirs and bestowed upon him a robe of honor. Al-Muttaqī summoned ʿAlī b. ʿĪsā and his brother ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿĪsā, and he ordered ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, so he managed the affair without being named to the vizierate. Then Kūratikīn seized Tukaynaka al-Turkī on the fifth of Shawwāl and drowned him, and he became sole ruler of the affair. Then the common people gathered on Friday, the sixth of Shawwāl, and complained of the Daylamīs and their lodging in their houses, but he did not disapprove of that. So the common people prevented the preacher from praying, and they and the Daylamīs fought, and a group from both parties was killed.
