Translation
✧ Mention of the rebellion of Bālubā against the caliph Bujkum had appointed one of his Turkish commanders, known as Bālubā, as his deputy over al-Anbār. Bālubā wrote to him requesting to be entrusted with all the districts along the Euphrates route, so as to confront Ibn Rāʾiq, who was in Syria. Bujkum granted him that, so he marched to al-Raḥba and corresponded with Ibn Rāʾiq, rebelling against Bujkum and al-Rāḍī. He proclaimed allegiance to Ibn Rāʾiq, and his power grew. The news reached Bujkum, so he dispatched a contingent of his army, ordering them to act decisively, to travel without halting, to outpace news of their approach, and to raid al-Raḥba by surprise. They did so, reaching al-Raḥba in five days and entering it while Bālubā was off guard, eating a meal. When the news reached him, he hid with a weaver, but they found him, seized him, and brought him into Baghdād on a camel. He was then imprisoned, and that was the last that was heard of him.
