Then the Year 325 AH Began
وَمِنَ الْحَوَادِثِ: أَنَّهُ صَارَتْ فَارِسُ فِي يَدِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ بُوَيْهَ، وَالرَّيُّ وَأَصْبَهَانُ وَالْجَبَلُ فِي يَدِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ بُوَيْهَ، وَالْمَوْصِلُ وَدِيَارُ بَكْرٍ وَدِيَارُ رَبِيعَةَ وَدِيَارُ مُضَرَ وَالْجَزِيرَةُ فِي أَيْدِي بَنِي حَمْدَانَ، [ وَمِصْرُ ] وَالشَّامُ فِي يَدِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ طُغْجَ، وَالْأَنْدَلُسُ (فِي يَدِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأُمَوِيِّ مِنْ وَلَدِ هِشَامِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، وَخُرَاسَانُ فِي يَدِ نَصْرِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ، وَالْيَمَامَةُ وَهَجَرُ وَأَعْمَالُ الْبَحْرَيْنِ فِي يَدِ أَبِي طَاهِرٍ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْجَنَابِيِّ [الْقُرْمُطِيِّ، وَطَبَرَسْتَانُ ] وَجُرْجَانُ فِي يَدِ الدَّيْلَمِ وَلَمْ يَبْقَ فِي يَدِ الْخَلِيفَةِ غَيْرُ مَدِينَةِ السَّلَامِ وَبَعْضُ السَّوَادِ، فَبَطَلَتْ دَوَاوِينُ الْمَمْلَكَةِ، وَضَعُفَتِ الْخِلَافَةُ، ثُمَّ اسْتَوْزَرَ الرَّاضِي أَبَا الْفَتْحِ [ابْنَ ] الْفَضْلِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ.
Translation
✧ Among the events: Persia came into the hand of ʿAlī b. Buwayh, and al-Rayy, Iṣbahān, and al-Jabal in the hand of al-Ḥasan b. Buwayh, and al-Mawṣil, Diyār Bakr, Diyār Rabīʿah, Diyār Muḍar, and al-Jazīrah in the hands of the Banū Ḥamdān, [and Egypt] and Syria in the hand of Muḥammad b. Ṭughj, and al-Andalus in the hand of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Muḥammad al-Umawī, of the descendants of Hishām b. ʿAbd al-Malik, and Khurāsān in the hand of Naṣr b. Aḥmad, and al-Yamāmah, Hajar, and the districts of al-Baḥrayn in the hand of Abū Ṭāhir Sulaymān b. al-Ḥasan al-Jannābī [al-Qarmaṭī, and Ṭabaristān] and Jurjān in the hand of al-Daylam. There remained in the hand of the Caliph nothing but the City of Peace and part of al-Sawād. Thus the bureaus of the kingdom became void, and the caliphate weakened. Then al-Rāḍī appointed as vizier Abū al-Fatḥ [b.] al-Faḍl b. Jaʿfar b. al-Furāt.
