ذِكْرُ وِزَارَةِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ لِلْخَلِيفَةِ وَفِيهَا كَتَبَ ابْنُ رَائِقٍ كِتَابًا عَنِ الرَّاضِي إِلَى أَبِي الْفَتْحِ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الْفُرَاتِ يَسْتَدْعِيهِ لِيَجْعَلَهُ وَزِيرًا، وَكَانَ يَتَوَلَّى الْخَرَاجَ بِمِصْرَ وَالشَّامِ، وَظَنَّ ابْنُ رَائِقٍ أَنَّهُ إِذَا اسْتَوْزَرَهُ جَبَى لَهُ أَمْوَالَ الشَّامِ وَمِصْرَ، فَقَدِمَ إِلَى بَغْدَاذَ، وَنُفِّذَتْ لَهُ الْخِلَعُ قَبْلَ وُصُولِهِ، فَلَقِيَتْهُ بِهِيتَ، فَلَبِسَهَا وَدَخَلَ بَغْدَاذَ، وَتَوَلَّى وِزَارَةَ الْخَلِيفَةِ وَوِزَارَةَ ابْنِ رَائِقٍ جَمِيعًا.
Translation
✧ Mention of the vizierate of al-Faḍl b. Jaʿfar for the caliph In this year, Ibn Rāʾiq wrote a letter on behalf of al-Rāḍī to Abū al-Fatḥ al-Faḍl b. Jaʿfar b. al-Furāt, summoning him to appoint him as vizier. He was in charge of the land tax in Egypt and Syria. Ibn Rāʾiq thought that if he appointed him as vizier, he would collect for him the revenues of Syria and Egypt. He came to Baghdad, and robes of honor were sent to him before his arrival. They met him at Hīt, and he put them on and entered Baghdad. He assumed the vizierate of the caliph and the vizierate of Ibn Rāʾiq together.
