ذِكْرُ فَتْحِ جَنَوَةَ وَغَيْرِهَا فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ سَيَّرَ الْقَائِمُ الْعَلَوِيُّ جَيْشًا مِنْ إِفْرِيقِيَّةَ فِي الْبَحْرِ إِلَى نَاحِيَةِ الْفِرِنْجِ، فَفَتَحُوا مَدِينَةَ جَنَوَةَ، وَمَرُّوا بِسَرْدَانِيَّةَ فَأَوْقَعُوا بِأَهْلِهَا، وَأَحْرَقُوا مَرَاكِبَ كَثِيرَةً، وَمَرُّوا بِقَرْقِيسِيَا، فَأَحْرَقُوا مَرَاكِبَهَا وَعَادُوا سَالِمِينَ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the conquest of Genoa and other places In this year, al-Qāʾim al-ʿAlawī dispatched an army from Ifrīqiyyah by sea to the region of the Franks. They conquered the city of Genoa, passed by Sardinia and inflicted losses upon its people, burned many ships, passed by Qarqīsiyā, burned its ships, and returned safely.
