Translation

✧ In this year, Banū Thaʿlabah joined Banū Asad, who were heading to the land of al-Mawṣil along with those of Ṭayy who were with them, and they became one hand against Banū Mālik and those of Taghlib who were with them. They drew near to one another for war, so Nāṣir al-Dawlah al-Ḥasan b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Ḥamdān rode out with his family and men, accompanied by Abū al-Agharr b. Saʿīd b. Ḥamdān, to make peace between them. Abū al-Agharr spoke, and a man from the party of Banū Thaʿlabah stabbed him and killed him. Then Nāṣir al-Dawlah and those with him charged at them, and they were defeated, some of them killed, their tents taken possession of, and their women and property seized. They escaped on the backs of their horses, and Nāṣir al-Dawlah pursued them to al-Ḥadīthah. When they reached it, Yānis, the servant of Muʾnis, who had been appointed over al-Mawṣil, met them, while he was going up to it. Banū Thaʿlabah and Banū Asad joined him, and they returned to the lands of Rabīʿah.
