Then the Year 320 AH of the Hijrah Began
وَكَانَ قَدْ وَرَدَ إِلَى طَرِيقِ مَكَّةَ صَاحِبٌ لِأَبِي طَاهِرٍ الْهَجَرِيِّ لِيَجْبِيَ الْحَاجَّ، فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ مِنَ الْحَاجِّ إِلَّا نَفَرٌ يَسِيرٌ رَجَّالَةٌ، فَلَمَّا فَاتَهُ مِنْ جِبَايَةِ الْحَاجِّ مَا قَدَرَ عَطَفَ عَلَى الْأَعْرَابِ فَاجْتَاحَهُمْ.
Translation
✧ A companion of Abū Ṭāhir al-Hajarī had arrived at the route to Makkah to collect tolls from the pilgrims, but only a small group of pilgrims set out on foot. When he missed what he could of the collection from the pilgrims, he turned upon the Bedouins and swept them away.
