Translation

✧ The affair of Sijistan When the emir Ahmad b. Ismail was killed, the people of Sijistan rebelled against his son Nasr, and Simajur al-Dawati departed from it. Al-Muqtadir bi-Allah appointed Badr the Elder over it, and he sent al-Fadl b. Humayd and Abu Yazid Khalid b. Muhammad al-Marwazi to it. Ubayd Allah b. Ahmad al-Jayhani was in Bust and al-Rukhkhaj, and Sa'd al-Talaqani was in Ghazna on behalf of al-Sa'id Nasr b. Ahmad. Al-Fadl and Khalid headed toward them, and Ubayd Allah withdrew from them, and they captured Sa'd al-Talaqani and sent him to Baghdad. Al-Fadl and Khalid took control of Ghazna and Bust. Then al-Fadl fell ill, and Khalid became solely in charge of affairs and rebelled against the caliph. The caliph sent Darak, the brother of Najah al-Tuluni, against him. He fought him, and Khalid defeated him. Khalid marched to Kirman. Badr sent an army against him. Khalid fought them, was wounded, his companions were defeated, and he was taken prisoner. He died, and his head was carried to Baghdad.
