The dismissal of al-Khaqani from the vizierate and the vizierate of 'Ali b. 'Isa
ذِكْرُ عِدَّةِ حَوَادِثَ فِي سنة ثلاثمائة عُزِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ عَنْ فَارِسَ وَكَرْمَانَ وَاسْتُعْمِلَ عَلَيْهَا بَدْرٌ الْحَمَّامِيُّ، وَكَانَ بَدْرٌ يَتَقَلَّدُ أَصْبَهَانَ، وَاسْتُعْمِلَ بَعْدَهُ عَلَى أَصْبَهَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ وَهْسُوذَانَ الدَّيْلَمَيُّ. وَفِيهَا وَرَدَ الْخَبَرُ إِلَى بَغْدَاذَ، وَرَسُولٌ مِنْ عَامِلِ بَرْقَةَ، وَهِيَ مِنْ عَمَلِ مِصْرَ وَمَا بَعْدَهَا بِأَرْبَعَةِ فَرَاسِخَ لِمِصْرَ وَمَا وَرَاءَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ عَمَلِ الْمَغْرِبِ بِخَبَرِ خَارِجِيٍّ خَرَجَ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَفِرُوا بِهِ وَبِعَسْكَرِهِ، وَقَتَلُوا مِنْهُمْ خَلْقًا كَثِيرًا، ( وَوَصَلَ عَلَى يَدِ الرَّسُولِ مِنْ أُنُوفِهِمْ وَآذَانِهِمْ شَيْءٌ كَثِيرٌ ). وَفِيهَا وُلِّيَ بِشْرٌ الْأَفْشِينِيُّ طَرَسُوسَ. وَفِيهَا قُلِّدَ مُؤْنِسٌ الْمُظَفَّرُ الْحَرَمَيْنِ وَالثُّغُورَ. . وَفِيهَا مَاتَ إِسْكَنْدَرُوسُ بْنُ لَاوِنَ مَلِكُ الرُّومِ، وَمَلَكَ بَعْدَهُ ابْنُهُ، وَاسْمُهُ قُسْطَنْطِينُ، وَعُمْرُهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً. وفِيهَا كَثُرَ مَاءُ دِجْلَةَ وَتَرَاكَمَتِ الْأَمْطَارُ بِبَغْدَادَ وَتَنَاثَرَتْ نُجُومٌ كَثِيرَةٌ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْأَرْبِعَاءِ لِسَبْعٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ جُمَادَى الْآخِرَةِ. وَفِيهَا كَثُرَتِ الْأَمْرَاضُ بِبَغْدَادَ وَالْأَسْقَامُ وَالْآلَامُ وَكَلِبَتِ الْكِلَابُ حَتَّى الذِّئَابُ بِالْبَادِيَةِ وَكَانَتْ تَقْصِدُ النَّاسَ وَالْبَهَائِمَ بِالنَّهَارِ فَمَنْ عَضَّتْهُ أَهْلَكَتْهُ. وَفِيهَا انْحَسَرَ جَبَلٌ بِالدِّينَوَرِ يُعْرَفُ بِالتَّلِّ فَخَرَجَ مِنْ تَحْتِهِ مَاءٌ عَظِيمٌ غَرَّقَ عِدَّةً مِنَ الْقُرَى. وَفِيهَا سَقَطَتْ شِرْذِمَةٌ مِنْ جَبَلِ لُبْنَانَ إِلَى الْبَحْرِ. وَفِيهَا حَمَلَتْ بَغْلَةٌ وَوَضَعَتْ مُهْرَةً. وَفِيهَا صُلِبَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْحَلَّاجُ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ أَرْبَعَةَ أَيَّامٍ، يَوْمَيْنِ فِي الْجَانِبِ الشَّرْقِيِّ، وَيَوْمَيْنِ فِي الْجَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ، وَذَلِكَ فِي رَبِيعٍ الْأَوَّلِ مِنْهَا. وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ أَمِيرُ الْحَجِيجِ الْمُتَقَدِّمُ ذِكْرُهُ فِي السِّنِينَ قَبْلَهَا، وَهُوَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْهَاشِمِيُّ الْعَبَّاسِيُّ أَثَابَهُ اللَّهُ وَتَقَبَّلَ مِنْهُ.
Translation
✧ The mention of several events In the year three hundred, ʿAbd Allāh b. Ibrāhīm al-Mismaʿī was dismissed from Fārs and Kirmān, and Badr al-Ḥammāmī was appointed over them. Badr had held Iṣbahān, and after him ʿAlī b. Wahsūdhān al-Daylamī was appointed over Iṣbahān. In this year, news reached Baghdād, along with a messenger from the governor of Barqah, which belongs to the province of Egypt, and is four parasangs beyond Egypt, and beyond that belongs to the province of the Maghrib, with news of a Khārijī who had revolted against them, and that they had defeated him and his army and killed a great number of them. (A large quantity of their noses and ears arrived with the messenger.) In this year, Bishr al-Afshīnī was appointed over Ṭarsūs. In this year, Muʾnis al-Muẓaffar was given charge of the Two Holy Sanctuaries and the frontier fortresses. . In this year, Alexander, son of Leo, the king of the Byzantines, died, and his son reigned after him, whose name was Constantine, and his age was twelve years. In this year, the water of the Tigris rose, and rains accumulated in Baghdād, and many stars scattered on the night of Wednesday, seven nights remaining of Jumādā al-Ākhirah. In this year, diseases, sicknesses, and pains increased in Baghdād, and dogs went mad, even wolves in the desert, and they would attack people and beasts by day; whomever they bit, they destroyed. In this year, a mountain in al-Dīnawar known as al-Tall collapsed, and a great flood of water issued from beneath it and drowned several villages. In this year, a fragment of Mount Lebanon fell into the sea. In this year, a mule conceived and gave birth to a filly. In this year, al-Ḥusayn b. Manṣūr al-Ḥallāj was crucified while alive for four days: two days on the eastern side and two days on the western side, and that was in Rabīʿ al-Awwal of that year. The people were led in the pilgrimage by the previously mentioned commander of the pilgrimage in the years before it, who was al-Faḍl b. ʿAbd al-Malik al-Hāshimī al-ʿAbbāsī, may God reward him and accept from him.
