خِلَافِ لُؤْلُؤٍ عَلَى مَوْلَاهُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ طُولُونَ وَفِيهَا خَالَفَ لُؤْلُؤٌ غُلَامُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ طُولُونَ صَاحِبِ مِصْرَ، عَلَى مَوْلَاهُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ طُولُونَ، وَفِي يَدِهِ حِمْصُ، وَقِنَّسْرِينُ، وَحَلَبُ، وَدِيَارُ مُضَرَ، مِنَ الْجَزِيرَةِ، وَسَارَ إِلَى بَالِسَ فَنَهَبَهَا، وَكَاتَبَ الْمُوَفَّقَ فِي الْمَسِيرِ إِلَيْهِ، وَاشْتَرَطَ شُرُوطًا، فَأَجَابَهُ أَبُو أَحْمَدَ إِلَيْهَا، وَكَانَ بِالرَّقَّةِ، فَسَارَ إِلَى الْمُوَفَّقِ فَنَزَلَ قَرْقِيسِيَا، وَبِهَا ابْنُ صَفْوَانَ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ، فَحَارَبَهُ، وَأَخَذَهَا مِنْهُ، وَسَلَّمَهَا إِلَى أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مَالِكِ بْنِ طَوْقٍ، وَسَارَ إِلَى الْمُوَفَّقِ، فَوَصَلَ إِلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يُقَاتِلُ الْخَبِيثَ الْعَلَوِيَّ.
Translation
✧ The rebellion of Luʾluʾ against his master Aḥmad b. Ṭūlūn In this year Luʾluʾ, the ghulām of Aḥmad b. Ṭūlūn, ruler of Egypt, rebelled against his master Aḥmad b. Ṭūlūn, while in his hands were Ḥimṣ, Qinnasrīn, Ḥalab, and the territory of Muḍar in al-Jazīrah. He marched to Bālis and plundered it. He corresponded with al-Muwaffaq about going over to him, stipulating conditions, and Abū Aḥmad agreed to them, being then at al-Raqqah. So he marched to al-Muwaffaq and encamped at Qarqīsiyā, where Ibn Ṣafwān al-ʿUqaylī was. He fought him, took it from him, and handed it over to Aḥmad b. Mālik b. Ṭawq. Then he marched on to al-Muwaffaq and joined him while he was fighting the wicked ʿAlawī.
