وِزَارَةِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ لِلْخَلِيفَةِ - وَوِزَارَةِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَخْلَدٍ، وَعَزْلِهِ وَفِيهَا خَرَجَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ مِنْ بَغْدَاذَ إِلَى سَامَرَّا وَشَيَّعَهُ الْمُوَفَّقُ، وَالْقُوَّادُ، فَلَمَّا صَارَ إِلَى سَامَرَّا غَضِبَ عَلَيْهِ الْمُعْتَمِدُ وَحَبَسَهُ، وَقَيَّدَهُ، وَانْتَهَتْ دَارُهُ، وَاسْتَوْزَرَ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ مَخْلَدٍ فِي ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ، فَسَارَ الْمُوَفَّقُ مِنْ بَغْدَاذَ إِلَى سَامَرَّا، وَمَعَهُ عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، فَلَمَّا قَرُبَ مِنْ سَامَرَّا تَحَوَّلَ الْمُعْتَمِدُ إِلَى جَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ فَعَسْكَرَ بِهِ ( مُغَاضِبًا لِلْمُوَفَّقِ )، وَاخْتَلَفَتِ الرُّسُلُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْمُوَفَّقِ، وَاتَّفَقَا، وَخَلَعَ عَلَى الْمُوَفَّقِ، وَمَسْرُورٍ، وَكَيْغَلَغَ، وَأَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُوسَى بْنِ بُغَا، وَأَطْلَقَ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ وَهْبٍ، وَعَادَ إِلَى الْجَوْسَقِ، وَهَرَبَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحِ بْنِ أَبِي الْأَصْبَغِ، وَهَرَبَ الْقُوَّادُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا بِسَامَرَّا مَعَ الْمُعْتَمِدِ خَوْفًا مِنَ الْمُوَفَّقِ، فَوَصَلُوا إِلَى الْمَوْصِلِ وَجَبَوُا الْخَرَاجَ.
Translation
✧ The vizierate of Sulaymān b. Wahb for the caliph, the vizierate of al-Ḥasan b. Makhlad, and his dismissal In it, Sulaymān b. Wahb left Baghdādh for Sāmarrā, escorted by al-Muwaffaq and the commanders. When he reached Sāmarrā, al-Muʿtamid became angry with him, imprisoned him, and put him in chains. His house was plundered, and al-Ḥasan b. Makhlad was appointed vizier in Dhū al-Qaʿdah. Al-Muwaffaq then marched from Baghdādh to Sāmarrā, accompanied by ʿUbayd Allāh b. Sulaymān b. Wahb. When he drew near Sāmarrā, al-Muʿtamid moved to the western side and encamped there, angry with al-Muwaffaq. Messengers went back and forth between him and al-Muwaffaq, and they came to an agreement. He bestowed robes of honor upon al-Muwaffaq, Masrūr, Kayghalagh, and Aḥmad b. Mūsā b. Bughā. He released Sulaymān b. Wahb, and returned to al-Jawsaq. Al-Ḥasan b. Makhlad and Aḥmad b. Ṣāliḥ b. Abī al-Aṣbagh fled, as did the commanders who had been in Sāmarrā with al-Muʿtamid, fearing al-Muwaffaq. They reached al-Mawṣil and collected the land tax.
