ابْنِ الصُّوفِيِّ الْعَلَوِيِّ وَخُرُوجِهِ بِمِصْرَ وَفِيهَا ظَهَرَ بِصَعِيدِ مِصْرَ إِنْسَانٌ عَلَوِيٌّ، ذُكِرَ أَنَّهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ، وَيُعْرَفُ بِابْنِ الصُّوفِيِّ، وَمَلَكَ مَدِينَةَ إِسْنَا، وَنَهَبَهَا، وَعَمَّ شَرُّهُ الْبِلَادَ. فَسَيَّرَ إِلَيْهِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ طُولُونَ جَيْشًا، فَهَزَمَهُ الْعَلَوِيُّ، وَأَسَرَ الْمُقَدَّمَ عَلَى الْجَيْشِ، فَقَطَعَ يَدَيْهِ وَرِجْلَيْهِ وَصَلَبَهُ، فَسَيَّرَ إِلَيْهِ ابْنُ طُولُونَ جَيْشًا آخَرَ، فَالْتَقَوْا بِنُوَاحِي إِخْمِيمَ، فَاقْتَتَلُوا قِتَالًا شَدِيدًا، فَانْهَزَمَ الْعَلَوِيُّ، وَقُتِلَ كَثِيرٌ مِنْ رِجَالِهِ، وَسَارَ هُوَ حَتَّى دَخَلَ الْوَاحَاتِ.
Translation
✧ Ibn al-Ṣūfī al-ʿAlawī and his outbreak in Egypt In this year there appeared in Upper Egypt a man who was an ʿAlawī. It was mentioned that he was Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad b. Yaḥyā b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib ﷺ, known as Ibn al-Ṣūfī. He took possession of the city of Isnā, plundered it, and his evil spread throughout the land. Aḥmad b. Ṭūlūn sent an army against him, but the ʿAlawī defeated it and captured the commander of the army. He cut off his hands and feet and crucified him. Ibn Ṭūlūn then sent another army against him. They met in the outskirts of Ikhmīm and fought a fierce battle. The ʿAlawī was defeated and many of his men were killed. He himself went on until he entered the oases.
