وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ، فِي قَوْلِ بَعْضِهِمْ، سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ عَلِيِّ ( بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ )، وَقِيلَ: حَجَّ بِهِمْ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ وَكَانَ الْمَأْمُونُ وَلَّاهُ الْيَمَنَ، وَجَعَلَ إِلَيْهِ وِلَايَةَ كُلِّ بَلَدٍ يَدْخُلُهُ، فَسَارَ مِنْ دِمَشْقَ، فَقَدِمَ بَغْدَاذَ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ، وَسَارَ عَنْهَا، فَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ.
Translation
✧ The people performed the pilgrimage, according to the statement of some of them, under Sulaymān b. ʿAbd Allāh b. Sulaymān b. ʿAlī [b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbbās], and it was said: ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUbayd Allāh b. al-ʿAbbās b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbbās ؓ led them in the pilgrimage. Al-Maʾmūn had appointed him over Yemen and assigned to him the governorship of every land he entered. He traveled from Damascus, arrived in Baghdādh, led the people in prayer on the Day of Fiṭr, departed from it, and then led the people in the pilgrimage.
