ذِكْرُ ظُهُورِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ ظَهَرَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَكَانَ بِمَكَّةَ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغَهُ خَبَرُ أَبِي السَّرَايَا وَمَا كَانَ مِنْهُ - سَارَ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ وَبِهَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ عِيسَى بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَامِلًا لِلْمَأْمُونِ، فَلَمَّا بَلَغَهُ قُرْبُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مِنْ صَنْعَاءَ، سَارَ مِنْهَا نَحْوَ مَكَّةَ، فَأَتَى الْمُشَاشَ فَعَسْكَرَ بِهَا، وَاجْتَمَعَ بِهَا إِلَيْهِ جَمَاعَةٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ هَرَبُوا مِنَ الْعَلَوِيِّينَ، وَاسْتَوْلَى إِبْرَاهِيمُ عَلَى الْيَمَنِ، وَكَانَ يُسَمَّى الْجَزَّارَ لِكَثْرَةِ مَنْ قَتَلَ بِالْيَمَنِ وَسَبَى وَأَخَذَ الْأَمْوَالَ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the emergence of Ibrāhīm b. Mūsā b. Jaʿfar In this year Ibrāhīm b. Mūsā b. Jaʿfar b. Muḥammad emerged. He was in Makkah, and when the news of Abū al-Sarāyā and what had happened from him reached him, he marched to Yemen, where Isḥāq b. Mūsā b. ʿĪsā b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbbās was governor for al-Maʾmūn. When the approach of Ibrāhīm to Ṣanʿāʾ reached him, he marched from it toward Makkah. He came to al-Mushāsh and encamped there, and a group of the people of Makkah who had fled from the ʿAlawīs gathered with him there. Ibrāhīm took control of Yemen, and he was called al-Jazzār because of the many people he killed in Yemen, and he took captives and seized wealth.
