The year 191 AH

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ وفي سَنَةُ إِحْدَى وَتِسْعِينَ وَمِائَةٍ خَرَجَ رَجُلٌ بِسَوَادِ الْعِرَاقِ يُقَالُ لَهُ: ثَرْوَانُ بْنُ سَيْفٍ وَجَعَلَ يَتَنَقَّلُ فِيهَا مِنْ بَلَدٍ إِلَى بَلَدٍ فَوَجَّهَ إِلَيْهِ الرَّشِيدُ طَوْقَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ فَهَزَمَهُ، وَجُرِحَ ثَرْوَانُ وَقُتِلَ عَامَّةُ أَصْحَابِهِ، وَكُتِبَ بِالْفَتْحِ إِلَى الرَّشِيدِ.

Translation

✧ In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. In the year 191 AH, a man called Tharwan b. Sayf revolted in the Sawad of Iraq, moving from one town to another. Al-Rashid sent Tawq b. Malik against him and routed him. Tharwan was wounded and most of his companions were killed. News of the victory was written to al-Rashid.
