Translation

✧ ( Mention of the governorship of ʿAbd Allāh b. Ibrāhīm b. al-Aghlab over Ifrīqiya ) When Ibrāhīm b. al-Aghlab died, his son ʿAbd Allāh succeeded him. ʿAbd Allāh was absent in Tripoli, besieged by the Berbers, as we shall mention in the year one hundred and ninety-six. His father had entrusted the emirate to him and ordered his son Ziyādat Allāh b. Ibrāhīm to pledge allegiance to his brother ʿAbd Allāh for the emirate. So he wrote to his brother about the death of their father and the emirate. He departed from Tripoli and arrived at al-Qayrawān. Affairs became stable, and in his days there was neither evil nor war, and the people were at peace, so the lands flourished. He died in Dhū al-Ḥijja of the year two hundred and one.
