فِتْنَةِ تَاكُرُنَّا وفي سَنَةُ ثَمَانٍ وَسَبْعِينَ وَمِائَةٍ هَاجَتْ فِتْنَةُ تَاكُرُنَّا بِالْأَنْدَلُسِ، وَخَلَعَ بَرْبَرُهَا الطَّاعَةَ ، وَأَظْهَرُوا الْفَسَادَ، وَأَغَارُوا عَلَى الْبِلَادِ، وَقَطَعُوا الطَّرِيقَ، فَسَيَّرَ هِشَامٌ إِلَيْهِمْ جُنْدًا كَثِيفًا عَلَيْهِمْ عَبْدُ الْقَادِرِ بْنُ أَبَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، مَوْلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، فَقَصَدُوهَا وَتَابَعُوا قِتَالَ مَنْ فِيهَا إِلَى أَنْ أَبَادُوهُمْ قَتْلًا وَسَبْيًا، وَفَرَّ مَنْ بَقِيَ مِنْهُمْ فَدَخَلَ فِي سَائِرِ الْقَبَائِلِ، وَبَقِيَتْ كُورَةُ تَاكُرُنَّا وَجِبَالُهَا خَالِيَةً مِنَ النَّاسِ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ.
Translation
✧ The Fitnah of Tākurunnā In the year one hundred and seventy-eight AH, the fitnah of Tākurunnā erupted in al-Andalus. Its Berbers renounced obedience, spread corruption, raided the lands, and cut the roads. Hishām dispatched against them a dense army under ʿAbd al-Qādir b. Abān b. ʿAbd Allāh, a mawlā of Muʿāwiyah b. Abī Sufyān. They made for it and continued fighting those within it until they exterminated them by killing and captivity. Those of them who remained fled and entered among the rest of the tribes. The district of Tākurunnā and its mountains remained empty of people for seven years.
