ذِكْرُ عِدَّةِ حَوَادِثَ وفي سَنَةُ ثَمَانٍ وَسَبْعِينَ وَمِائَةٍ وَثَبَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ إِفْرِيقِيَّةَ، فَقَتَلُوا الْفَضْلَ بْنَ رَوْحِ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، وَأَخْرَجُوا مَنْ كَانَ بِهَا مِنْ آلِ الْمُهَلَّبِ، فَبَعَثَ إِلَيْهِمُ الرَّشِيدُ هَرْثَمَةَ، فَرَجَعُوا إِلَى الطَّاعَةِ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ. وَفِيهَا فَوَّضَ الرَّشِيدُ أُمُورَ الْخِلَافَةِ كُلَّهَا إِلَى يَحْيَى بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ بَرْمَكَ . وَغَزَا الصَّائِفَةَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ زُفَرَ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، وَغَزَا الشَّاتِيَةَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ. وَمَعَهُ الْبَنْدُ بِطَرِيقِ صِقِلِّيَةَ. وَحَجَّ بِالنَّاسِ فِيهَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَهُوَ نَائِبُ مَكَّةَ، كَرَّمَهَا اللَّهُ.
Translation
✧ Mention of several events: In the year one hundred seventy-eight, a faction of the people of Ifrīqiyah rose up, killed al-Faḍl b. Rawḥ b. Ḥātim, and expelled those of the family of al-Muhallab who were there. Al-Rashīd sent Harthamah against them, and they returned to obedience at his hands. In this year, al-Rashīd delegated all affairs of the caliphate to Yaḥyā b. Khālid b. Barmak. In this year, Muʿāwiyah b. Zufar b. ʿĀṣim led the summer expedition, and Sulaymān b. Rāshid led the winter expedition, accompanied by the standard along the road of Sicily. In this year, Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm b. Muḥammad b. ʿAlī b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿAbbās led the people in the pilgrimage; he was the governor of Makkah, may God ennoble it.
