Translation

✧ The sedition in Mosul. In this year, al-ʿAṭṭāf b. Sulaymān al-Azdī rebelled against al-Rashīd. He was one of the knights of the people of Mosul, and four thousand men gathered around him, and he collected the land tax. The governor of al-Rashīd over Mosul was Muḥammad b. al-ʿAbbās al-Hāshimī—and it is said ʿAbd al-Malik b. Ṣāliḥ—while al-ʿAṭṭāf had control over the entire affair, and he was collecting the land tax. He remained in this state for two years, until al-Rashīd went out to Mosul and demolished its wall because of him.
