قَتْلِ رَوْحِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ وَفِيهَا اسْتَعْمَلَ الرَّشِيدُ عَلَى صَدَقَاتِ بَنِي تَغْلِبَ رَوْحَ بْنَ صَالِحٍ الْهَمْدَانِيَّ، وَهُوَ مِنْ قُوَّادِ الْمَوْصِلِ، فَجَرَى بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ تَغْلِبَ خِلَافٌ، فَجَمَعَ جَمْعًا، وَقَصَدَهُمْ، فَبَلَغَهُمُ الْخَبَرُ، فَاجْتَمَعُوا، وَسَارُوا إِلَى رَوْحٍ فَبَيَّتُوهُ، فَقُتِلَ هُوَ وَجَمَاعَةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ، فَسَمِعَ حَاتِمُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، وَهُوَ بِالسُّكَيْرِ، فَجَمَعَ جَمْعًا كَثِيرًا، وَسَارَ إِلَى تَغْلِبَ، فَبَيَّتَهُمْ، وَقَتَلَ مِنْهُمْ خَلْقًا كَثِيرًا، وَأَسَرَ مِثْلَهُمْ.
Translation
✧ The Killing of Rawḥ b. Ṣāliḥ In this year, al-Rashīd appointed Rawḥ b. Ṣāliḥ al-Hamdānī, one of the commanders of al-Mawṣil, over the alms of Banū Taghlib. A dispute arose between him and Taghlib, so he gathered a force and headed toward them. News reached them, so they assembled, marched against Rawḥ, and fell upon him by night. He and a group of his companions were killed. Ḥātim b. Ṣāliḥ, who was at al-Sukayr, heard of this, gathered a large force, marched against Taghlib, fell upon them by night, killed many of them, and took a like number captive.
